Beautiful White Barn

Just a short distance north of the capital city of Madison, Wisconsin and forty-five minutes south of Wisconsin Dells. Rolling hills surround the property where a wide variety of wildlife can be viewed. The White Barn is set on a hilltop overlooking the Sauk Prairie river area and is isolated from cities and traffic by acres of surrounding farmland. Guests will enjoy the views from every point within the barn and property.

Lovely, airy house with a marvelous balcony to watch the stars or to enjoy the sunrise. We enjoyed playing pool and the bedroom lofts were beautiful and comfortable!

The White Barn is gorgeous - the decor is beautifully curated and it is well-stocked with thoughtful amenities. We loved the proximity to Sauk City, Mount Horeb, and Madison, but also had an amazing time enjoying the property itself, especially the basketball court and fire pit. Christi was a great host, clear communicator, and even left us the most delicious loaf of banana bread as a welcome gift.We would absolutely recommend!

The White Barn was perfect for UWM Graduation / Mother’s Day / Mywife’s birthday and Christi was a terrific host. It’s been a very memorable weekend for us and The White Barn made it extra special.

Christi and Rod were exceptional hosts, very responsive, friendly and helpful. The barn was even better than the pictures. There is plenty to do for everyone, and the property is gorgeous and peaceful with lots of places to relax, read and enjoy nature. There are plenty of things to do within a short drive as well. Our family had a great long weekend and we definitely hope to return!

Wonderful Stay!!

Loved being there and Christie and Rod were such a wonderful part of it! Got to ask them about their renovations and the stories plus ideas of all the amazing things they have there. Beautiful and so creative.

Comfort in a barn

My family has now stayed in the white barn in both winter and summer and we could not pick a favorite. Everything about the barn is comfortable, from the personal check in to the easy as pie checkout and all of the comfy spots and things to do right on the property. This spot is a family favorite that we’re grateful to come back to.

Wonderfully unique property. Warm and helpful hosts. Location is fantastic--less than a half hour to Devil's Lake, Blue Mound, Madison, Spring Green, and nearly all the region's highlights. Will definitely return.

Stay at White Barn

The place was immaculate and cozy! Excellent full kitchen, amazing bathtub, washer dryer, and nice high end touches such as fancy soap. Interesting and well organized antique collections throughout. Plenty to do on the property (pool table, basketball court, fooseball, etc) and plenty of excursions within a half hour drive. Christi was wonderful! Would love to return.

What a fantastic property!

This home was clean, rustic, had a story to tell and full of collections to walk around and check out. The story of the barn is just one thing to explore. Our family loved the full outdoor basketball/volleyball/tennis court with all you need gave us hours of fun. The location was perfect - close to many options to explore if you want. We had no issues whatsoever but the owners are always available if needed. Planning to visit again!

Graduation weekend

The beautiful white barn is one of the most beautiful and unique places we have ever stayed. Attention is given to every detail and well appointed, everything you could need for a stay is supplied. The place was spotless too, lots of comfy linens and blankets. I can’t recommend this enough. Christi and Rod, the owners were very communicative and were invested in making sure we had a wonderful stay. Thank you!!

Golf weekend

Everything was great. Within a 30 minute drive of several courses (which was the purpose of our trip). Tons of activities at this place to keep us entertained. I wish there would have been a 4th bed, but it's clearly stated in the description that there are 3 beds and an optional air mattress. We'll be back

Amazing, unique ,incredible !

We (4 adults and 2 kids) stayed in Beautiful White Barn. It's the best property we ever rented, it feels like home, so many details and hard work was put in to this beautiful barn. Very spacious and cozy, the outdoor space is delightful. The pool table along with the basketball court were two great ways to spend time with family. The kitchen was very spacious, super clean and stacked . Thank you Christi and Rod for letting us stay in the Beautiful White Barn, and we are already planning to come back in summer time.

Why they chose this property

The ultimate fix-er upper. The barn was constructed in the early 1900s in the German bank barn timber frame technique. The White Barn was repurposed in 2008 as a retreat location rather than serving its original purpose as a dairy barn. The entire renovation was performed with one ultimate goal in mind, that of maintaining the original integrity of the structure and spaces while modernizing its function. A dramatic, yet practical outcome was achieved. The end product looks and feels like a barn, yet allows for unique experiences for each event, family gathering or retreat.

The Beautiful White Barn is an exceptional get away for family fun or just some peace and quiet with a few friends for a weekend. We offer a beautifully curated space in the barn as well as gorgeous views of the countryside and gardens for outdoor enjoyment.
