Stunning home and views, we booked again so we could stay longer next summer! Toddler and dog friendly, kids toys, puzzles, and games made the rainy days so enjoyable. Excellent fishing, loved the kayaks. Property well kept and clean inside and out. Be sure to bring worms for fishing and bug spray in the summer. Can’t wait to go back!

What an amazing weekend we had with family. We enjoyed the beach front property and our own private dock. Plenty of room inside and out and our host that lives close to the property was very quick to respond to emails to answer any questions I had. They even made sure we had enough wood for our fire! We wish we could have stayed longer on this stunning property.

Serene, relaxing, and fun!

As far as scenery, there’s nothing better. The mountains surrounding this beautifully manicured and private escape are breathtaking. We only had a short stay so we maximized our experience by waking very early and were so grateful we did because the view of the river from the deck with the early morning mist was heavenly….truly something to behold. And waking early gave us so much time to enjoy fishing, swimming, and kayaking. We have five children from ages 3-11 and they all had the time of their lives, while we discovered a new found love for kayaking!! They supplied enough kayaks for all of us to enjoy little river adventures as a family of 7. My only tips if you’re on your way to enjoy this beautiful vacation home would be to maybe bring your own life vests because you’ll want to be sure everyone has one that fits safely (a few are supplied which was wonderful, but will not suit every group). Also, if you’re afraid of spiders at all just be prepared that you will definitely encounter a few sizeable ones! I assume it’s especially difficult to control them during the July to August timeframe, but possibly a little more pest control would be one of few critiques. Even so this would not impact our desire to return and in fact we booked two stays within one month so we are thrilled to go back and have another exciting weekend with the kids. I would recommend FULLY stocking up on absolutely everything you might want or need during your stay from coffee creamer to condiments and possibly even a couple larger sized towels as the ones provided are quite small. We arrived to the property and went straight to the beach because unlocking the door proved to be a bit confusing (we eventually figured out the lock needs to be turned before the door will open) and saw that there was fencing along the sand where it meets the water. Initially we were quite irritated and confused thinking this might possibly mean we shouldn’t access the water from the sand?? If this happens to you - you’ll learn as we did that it’s simply a preventative measure to keep geese/ducks off of the property to maintain cleanliness and they make it clear you should roll back the fencing to use the beach! It was a little hot in the house when we arrived but we turned down the air and eventually the temperature was tolerable. There is also a fan for upstairs to help circulate the air and make sleeping more comfortable. I think the only true negative would be that the train across the river which is super fun to see and hear during the day isn’t so fun at night from the loft bedroom. It runs during the night and will definitely wake up lighter sleepers. So I would say choose a different room or maybe bring ear plugs - but it turned into a positive for us because it got us out of bed bright and early, without it we wouldn’t have discovered the breathtaking beauty of the early mornings on the river. Overall, a fantastic place to spend quiet, peaceful, family time. Our short trip was amazing!

Nice location

Nice house on a spacious lot, quiet area, lots of birds, nice views. stayed in winter without any snow- water at more of a distance than the pictures due to season. It’s 45 minutes to Schweitzer. Did not get to enjoy outdoor seating which looks nice. Enjoyed indoor fireplace (bring wood).

Great Location But Run Down

This is a great location, BUT the table and countertops had dried food on them. The deck and stairs need replaced, dangerous for elderly folks. The fireplace full of ashes and floors were dirty. The house is just old and in need of attention. The dishes are by far second hand, at this price point you expect the home to be sound, clean, and have nice amenities. The refrigerator handle was broken and inside the second shelf lid was missing. Slider door screen broken, no wood for wood stove or firepit outside. I could go on and on, I think you get the picture..

My son's 16th birthday

We had the best time celebrating my son's 16th birthday with family. My son picked the house and called it the "cabin mansion." We had a great time and were pleasantly surprised by the price for how great this house is.

Gorgeous property and house

Huge house in a gorgeous remote area. Plenty of space for 2 families of 4 each. Skiing at Schweitzer is 40 minutes away. We downhill skied, puzzled, played games, read books, cross country skied right out of the house and cooked some great meals. Overall a great getaway. Would love to come back in the summer.

Great getaway

Loved the location. Quiet area, gorgeous scenery, waters off dock were perfect to let kids relax and play in. Kayaks were huge bonus. The sandy “beach” area was fun and the dock was great. Landscaping is beautiful. Home is well appointed. Could use new pots and pans. Pillows had seen better days. Home was clean upon arrival and furniture was nice. We really enjoyed our stay and would go back.

Perfect ski weekend with friends

The house surpassed our expectations. Beds are very comfortable and loft has privacy from the other rooms. We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful house. Everything was clean and had all the amenities necessary. Kitchen had all we needed to cook for two days and space is generous for more than one family to stay. It is located a bit far from Sandpoint downtown, but prime location as we could see the frozen lake in the morning. Would totally recommend it!

Perfect place to relax with kids and grandkids

Thanks so much for sharing your home. It was a perfect setting for our family get together. We loved the beach, the trails and back roads to walk, the local family of bald eagles, the fire pits (it would have been nice to know that wood was provided when we asked) & yard toys. The kayaks were a nice extra but some life jackets would have been nice. The large land was great for folks to get some alone time when they wanted and we never felt like we were alone n top each other ( there were 7 adults, a 4 yr old and a dog), the beach was great for the 4 year old as it was like a giant wading pool. Thanks again and we hope to get back there again.

A vacation to remember!

What a great time we just had at the Waterfront Ranch on Pend Orielle! It was my wife and I with our 2 kids, their spouses and 2 grandkids (7 and 4 years old), 8 of us in all. There is plenty of room in this fantastic house! It sits on a huge lot and the views in every direction are breathtaking. We all enjoyed relaxing on the deck, patios and dock. The grandkids loved the sandy beach. And what a treat the kayaks were. We all had fun floating in them. The house is solid, well built and huge! The owner has it well stocked and has even supplied plenty of firewood for the fire pit. And if you’re into games they have tons of them. We were never bored. The home was one of the cleanest rentals we have ever stayed. From this location, Sandpoint is 20 minutes or so away and the drive is easy and beautiful. There is a lot to do there. We went in to Sandpoint a couple of times and also decided to make a day trip up to Canada and had lunch in Creston. I could say much more about this gem of a home but the bottom line is that it is an excellent place to have a vacation to remember! Our 7 yr old granddaughter wanted to stay and move in! We will be back!

Perfect, Quiet, Fun

We live in the area on the lake, but wanted to celebrate a birthday with out of town guests somewhere new. Total we had four adults, three tweens and two dogs. Location is beautiful. Lots of room to explore the property and enjoy the lake. Dock photos show the lake when it is down in the off season, but during the summer the water is high. Kids loved jumping off the dock and playing in the sand. We all kayaked to the point and swam more there. Beds were really comfortable and furniture was all comfy and good shape. Kitchen could used some cooking items which we told the cleaner about. Owners are lovely. We plan to return next year. It’s worth mentioning I have very high standards when it comes to where we stay, and I’m pretty easily disappointed. This property/house however is very nice. Don’t plan too many away activities if you visit. Just enjoy the river-ranch!

Stunning Location

We couldn't believe that all of this was ours for our stay and that the cost was within our reach! Such a beautiful log cabin overlooking an inlet of the lake! And a ton of space! The fireplace made our hearts rejoice during a rainy day during our stay. And the trail (that the owner mowed out through the grasses) made for a lovely walk during the sunny and warmer part of our stay. We loved the deck on the house and the dock on the lake in the early morning fog! Had it been warmer while we were there, we would have taken the kayaks out on the lake. I don't think I can say enough good things about this place! It was quiet and a great place to spend time reflecting. There were fields around the house -- nothing too close so it felt private. I loved walking the long gravel road in the morning and seeing the stars and moon at night. The 3-floor cabin was well stocked with everything we needed and super comfortable to hang out in. I especially loved the beautiful high ceiling, the gorgeous dining room table, all the log work inside, the HUGE bathroom upstairs (with a huge jetted tub) and the many windows looking out onto the lake. And of course, the beds were so comfortable and the linens on the beds were so nice (not cheap crap)! We needed help with one thing and the owner popped right on over to help us! He was very nice! What shocked me mostly was that our dogs were welcomed in this nice home, but the home doesn't smell of dogs at all! Having our little doggies with us made all the difference for us. Thank you for a memorable joyous stay! We will return again!
