Welcome to Wildman Getaway! This recently remodeled cabin has a full kitchen, bathroom with shower, a queen bed on the main level, and 4 single beds in the loft along with a front porch to relax on and watch the wildlife. There is also a laundry available in the Wash House. One of the most amazing things about Wildman Getaway is its location! Located in the heart of moose country, you'll have plenty of opportunity to see the moose, wild turkeys, sandhill cranes and other wildlife who reside in the area. It is close to so much, yet still private. It's only a short and beautiful 1.7 mile walk to the Kenai Peninsula Fair Grounds where the Salmonfest and Kenai Peninsula Fair are held each summer. Are you tired of too many people? We can work with that. Do you not want to be too far from civilization? We accommodate that also.

Spent 2 nights in the Moose cabin and had a wonderful time!
The cabin was exactly as listed and had everything needed plus more!
We will definitely stay again!
This place was amazing! The cabin was everything that Daniel said it was. Will definitely come back to this spot in the future. Was able to see a Moose grazing in the woods.
My husband & I had the absolute best time! Dan & Frank are responsive & kind. This was my 2nd time on the property & I cant wait to come back. The cabins have everything you need & the property is spectacular 10 /10 Highly recommend .
This is my second time staying in this cabin so that is an obvious YES to anyone questioning whether or not to stay! We stayed in it due to its close proximity to the Deep Creek boat launch and campground which is only 10 min away.
The cabin itself, has everything you need to be comfortable. The location of it is quiet and serene. The hosts readily respond to any needs/requests. You can't go wrong and won't be disappointed staying here!
Three couples, life-long and 40+ years in AK, enjoyed our stay our stay at bear wolf and moose cabins. We were charter fishing out of Deep Creek. Everything was clean, worked, ez communication with hosts, comfortable bed in moose cabin, close to highway, and appreciated the firewood. WIldman is on the list, if available, next time we're in the area.
Had a wonderful stay in the Moose Cabin. Loved the logo coffee cups, and especially the comfortable beds. 5 star on cleanliness of the cabin. Definitely a quaint and comfortable cabin.
Frank the host was very helpful with are stay.
Wish the trip did not have to end. I will recommend this to friends and would also recommend everyone to check this out...
Till next year cheers

Ted, We really enjoyed having all of you here. We are looking forward to having you back.
We were looking for a place close to Homer for two nights and found this cabin. This was the only place left close by that fit our family and was reasonably priced. We were pleasantly surprised by our stay here and it ended up being a highlight of our trip. One evening we just relaxed by the fire, they even provided chairs and roasting sticks for.marshmallows! We would definitely stay here again if coming back to the area!

The property was really nice, so was the cabin! There were little rabbits all over, and we saw a moose with triplets, and we saw a bald eagle out the window! We played some games that were in the cabin!

About the host
Hosted by Frank Volkert, Daniel Volkert
Frank and Daniel are a father and son. They have always loved fishing, hunting and the outdoors since they were both young. 20 years ago when they first visited Alaska, they fell in love with it. Today's outdoors is not like it was 40+ years ago. The closest you can get to those days are in Alaska. Frank and Daniel would like to have others enjoy Alaska, it's beauty, it's frontier and the overall Alaskan experience.
Why they chose this property
Wildman Getaway is close enough to enjoy all the fun Alaska has to offer yet secluded enough (about a mile away from Ninilchik city) to enjoy the quiet, wildlife and ambiance of wild Alaska. We can also recommend some of the best charter fishing available (June through August is the busy time of year so schedule early), right out of Ninilchik. Wildman Getaway is nestled in the middle of moose country, you will surely see some wildlife while you are here. Wildman Getaway offers a larger cabin, two studio dry cabins, RV hookups, tent camping sites a bathhouse, fish cleaning station and more. The larger cabin comes complete with a kitchen, bath, loft, and room to sleep 6.
What makes this property unique
Wildman Getaway is centrally located on the Kenai Peninsula between Soldotna/Kenai, AK (39 miles to the North) with the Kenai River (best salmon fishing river in the world) and Homer, AK (37 miles to the South and best Halibut fishing in the world). It is next to Deep Creek river which has great Coho and trout fishing as well. Pacific razor clams[12] are popular for digging on the beaches near Ninilchik, when the tides are low enough. CLAMMERS SHOULD CHECK REGULATIONS BEFORE DIGGING. Ninilchik is a great gateway to all of the recreational opportunities and natural beauty of the southern Kenai Peninsula. There is plenty to love here starting with the stunning scenery and old village charm of one of the Kenai Peninsula’s oldest communities. It is also the host community for the annual Kenai Peninsula Fair and the annual Salmonfest Alaska (formerly Salmonstock) Music Festival which only a short walk of 1.7 miles away.
