The direct access to the beach and the backyard pool made for the perfect day everyday! The hosts were very friendly and the flat is just as shown/described. It was the perfect place for my family of 4 to relax and enjoy all that the outer banks has to offer.

This was our second stay here with our family of four, and somehow we loved it even more this time. The place is a total gem—beautifully designed, exceptionally well cared for, and full of thoughtful details. There’s a real sense of taste and craftsmanship throughout the entire flat. The location is fantastic. We felt at home immediately and were genuinely sad to leave. We would return without hesitation.

We would definitely recommend staying at this property. It was exactly as described in the listing, just over the dunes directly on the beach and we had the private pool all to ourselves. It was the cleanest property we have ever stayed at. You can tell the owners take pride in their property and it’s “not just a rental”. Although they occupy the upstairs at times, this was not an issue. They are super quiet and made themselves as out of the way as possible to let us enjoy our vacation. We would definitely recommend staying here and would come back again when we visit the Outer Banks.

The apartment was decorated nicely and the easy access to the beach was terrific, the place was clean and extremely well stocked in the kitchen as well as with linens and extra little touches. This was our first stay in Nags Head and we will be back!

Great stay!

Not many updated, oceanfront houses with private pool are available for a group of 4, so this is a real find! It was the perfect stay for our small family - great location, clean and nicely decorated, and well appointed.

Great Vacation Spot

Amazing location and great for small families. My wife and I traveled with our 2 year old and 5 month old, and this place was perfect. Easy beach access and pool. Beautifully maintained. Couldn't ask for a better vacation spot!

This VRBO is, hands down, the best place to stay at OBX. Conveniently located, clean, well stocked with the basic essentials and has a pool! Great value for the price. 10/10, highly recommend.

We absolutely loved staying at this property! It was very clean and well cared for. We had everything we needed and more. The layout was perfect for my husband and I and our 2 teenagers. My husband and I purchased this cottage in 2012. We owned the Sea Spray Cottages that are directly across the street. John runs those cottages. In 2018-19 we renovated our ocean-front cottage. We knew when we purchased it that we had to replace the pilings and raise the cottage. The 18 month renovation raised the cottage up nine feet and forward towards the road 16 feet. The original upper two floors that we occupy were built in 1928. The lower floor was constructed during the renovation. We have made the lower floor available to guests to rent.

Why they chose this property

It was across the street from my husband's "work." It is historic and needed preservation as other buyers were looking to demo the house and build the typical mega-cottage to jam folks in for a very expensive week at the beach. We saved the old gal from that fate and have now provided guests with an affordable oceanfront option that is not readily available.

What makes this property unique

Guests enjoy a brand new space in an old-school shell. The wrap around porch provides guests with an old southern home stay at the beach with direct pool and ocean access.
