This was such a cozy place to stay! Me and my whole family loved everything about this place. It has all the comforts of home. You can tell the host thought of everything that would make guests stay as comfortable as possible. I would absolutely stay here again!
We loved the cottage! Everything was so clean, cozy and comfortable. The hosts were so welcoming and kind. We loved the walks and the nearby town centers. Highly recommend!
Cottage was charming, cozy and spotless. Working fireplace was a treat over the dreary, chilly weekend. Dale and Billie were very responsive and helpful with our early arrival. Quiet location, just a short drive to Ridgefield town center. Sleeping accommodations were as advertised but ended up being a little tight for our family of 5.
A perfect retreat in the beautiful Hudson Valley and Fairfield County. Weather was fabulous and the cottage was perfect. Billie and Dale are the most friendly hosts with the dogs! We had a brilliant week and will be back again. The cottage is very well presented and fully stocked. A wonderful open fire too! Thanks!
We had a very enjoyable stay at this location. The hosts were both very accommodating and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed for our weeklong stay. Communication with hosts was great! The property offers great walking paths. The house had all the amenities that we needed. Kitchen was superb and came stocked with the essentials. We will hopefully have another reason to come to this part Connecticut and stay at this house.
We had such a relaxing visit. The cottage is adorable, with beautiful furnishings and every tool you could possibly need in the kitchen. Being able to use the fireplace was wonderful on cold nights. Even though we never met in person, Billie Sue was a wonderful host, texting regularly before we arrived and during our stay to make sure that we had everything we needed. I loved the location, which is halfway between the town centers of Ridgefield and Wilton.
This cozy cottage located on an estate in scenic and historic Wilton, Connecticut could not have been more perfect for our family Christmas gathering. Care was taken to provide all creature comforts. The cottage is perfectly situated between the beautiful towns of Ridgefield and Wilton with museums, shopping, casual and fine dining and wooded trails are everywhere. Our hosts, Billie Sue and Dale could not have been more welcoming and attentive to our needs. We would recommend this charming getaway for all seasons.
We couldn't ask for a better experience and place to stay. Dale and Billie were welcoming from the start and made sure we had everything we needed from check in to check out. We used the kitchen for breakfast and spent a cold rainy morning in the main room, enjoying the fire that was laid for us. We appreciated the details, like the filtered water in the frig. and the lovely scented diffuser in the bathroom. The home was clean, cozy and perfectly situated for everything we were doing between Westport, Wilton and New Canaan. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.
We highly recommend The Cottage. The location is fantastic with beautiful hiking trails right in the backyard. The house is very clean, organized and comfortable. Billy Sue and Dale are fabulous hosts, and people, who go above and beyond with extra special touches like fresh produce from their garden, a welcome bottle of wine, fresh cut flowers and a pre-made fire just waiting for you to light. The week flew by and we are happy to have met Billy Sue & Dale. Would not hesitate to return.
Charming cottage for a family weekend getaway.
The cottage was very clean and homey. There is a beautiful updated kitchen, cozy living space, and nice bedrooms and bathrooms.
The location was ideal for us - easy trip from the city and central to a number of interesting places in the area. The property itself is gorgeous, with walking trails behind the back yard.
Dale and Billie Sue were incredibly accommodating and responsive, making sure we had an enjoyable stay. We spoke on the phone with them a couple times, and got to meet Dale shortly as we were leaving and they seem like genuinely nice people.
Overall, this was a great escape from the city and I can’t say enough good things about the place!
This carriage house was very nice! It was spotless and the owners take a lot of pride in renovating the historic carriage house and making it comfortable for short stays.
It is equidistant between ridgefield and Wilton so very close to fun shops and restaurants. The kitchen is upgraded with nice new appliances. The only slight downsides were that the ceilings were low in a few doorways so I bumped my head a few times (I’m over 6 ft).
Great communication with the owners who will go out of their way to make sure you are happy and comfortable! Thank you!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 day stay at this cottage. The hosts have thought of every need their guests might have. Spotlessly clean throughout, and the kitchen was much better equipped than other short-term rentals I've stayed at - definitely possible to cook meals in this kitchen. The instructions folder includes a map you can use to hike the trails that depart from the property, leading to 2 different nature preserves. Dale and Billie Sue respond quickly to any questions, and even placed fresh flowers in several rooms in the cottage. Nearby Ridgefield has good restaurants, a great bookstore, and a very popular ice cream and candy shop. Lots of other worthwhile destinations not too far from here, but be sure to visit Ridgefield!
With charm and attention to detail, this house is a gem.
The modern and sunny kitchen will delight cooks and the comfortable living room has a lovely and efficient fireplace.
Our hosts provided ample firewood whenever needed.
A separate TV room has an up-to-date flat screen TV and all the streaming channels you will need. The bedrooms and bathrooms were well-appointed. The whole house was spotlessly clean with excellent taste in art throughout.
We enjoyed the the rocking chairs on the two porches which add to the charm and proved to be extra special at sunset with a glass of wine. The grounds are beautiful and border a large nature preserve with trails that wind through a forest and past streams, an amazing bonus which we enjoyed often. Our stay was a joy! Mostly importantly, our hosts, Dale and Billie, are very special people who are exceptionally warm, kind and generous. We look forward to returning every chance we get.
House was well-prepared and clean- even had a fire made and ready to be lit. Older home with some small spaces that might be hard for a larger person to navigate. Host was very responsive and flexible. Kitchen space was very nice. Recommend this house.
Lovely cottage on beautiful grounds, and wonderful hosts
Our family had such a wonderful stay at the cottage. Billie Sue and Dale are kind and wonderful hosts. The cottage is extremely clean, and very charming and comfortable. There are so many warm touches, like fresh flowers placed in the home, and fresh vegetables from their garden delivered to us. We loved relaxing on the front and back porches - it was very peaceful. The property is beautiful and our family would go on hikes in their backyard. We loved our visit and highly recommend staying here.
Everything about the property was as appeared in the listing and better.
It was so easy to deal with the Hollingsworths who are the most accommodating and generous hosts. The house is charming and was in meticulous condition and the grounds are so wonderful for young children to play. In addition, the proximity to the Quarry Head nature preserve provided great outdoor experience for the children and adults. Can't imagine a better rental.
