About this property

Motisi's Sandy Beach

A rare beach front property. White sandy beach just 12 steps away.

Find yourself staying at a true beach house on Madeline Island. This property is new for 2020 and has its own sandy beach. Walk out the door with your beach towel, beverages and snacks. You are right there. Need to restock your supplies walk up the 12 steps and get what you need. This property has spectacular views of barrier beach (the State and Town parks) and Michigan. Bring your paddle-board, kayak or water toys (that you can carry to the beach). Spend your days just lounging and letting go of the stress of city life.

The property has a 10’ x 30’ screened in porch to enjoy a morning sunrise with a cup of coffee, take a nap, read a book, dine out on. It is a great outdoor space to enjoy free of mosquito's. The master bedroom has its own 10’ x 16’ deck with the same spectacular views.

The main house has a large fireplace if you want an evening fire. Too hot but still want to enjoy a fire, gather around the fire pit just outside your door.

This property is an eclectic mish mash of design styles. Enjoy a classic avocado green bathroom, galley style kitchen, bamboo floor, or barber chair.

The house is currently configured to sleep 6. Unfortunately, I have to make the following statement. Recently we have had guests who have exceeded the max guests allowed. This is a direct violation of our reservation policy. As an FYI, if your number of guests exceed the max allowed you will be asked to leave and no refund will be provided.

The three bedrooms consist of a total of 2 queen beds and 2 twin beds. The property consists of 1 ½ baths. The second level has a ½ bath and the main floor (avocado bathroom) has the full bath with a tub shower.

Update 9/6/2020: It pains us to say that we will no longer allow pets at our properties. Failure by the pet owners to follow rules has caused to many issues for us to continue to allow pets. Unfortunately, I am unable to make any exceptions to this policy.

Please be mindful of the Ferry schedule. We can not offer a refund if you can't make the last boat. Please check their website for any travel advisories before traveling. Also, if you are booking very close to your arrival date please pay attention to our strict cancellation policy.

Note: Check in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. Please note due to the very high lodging demand we cannot offer early check in or late check out.

Sweet cottage in a great location with the best shoreline. The rooms were comfortable with all essentials included and easy check in and check out. The beach provided so much fun for our family and the kids even enjoyed swimming in May!

Everything was on point — from communication with owner to the actual stay in the oh-so-charming vintage cabin on madeline island. Who could complain with Lake Superior surf right outside your window? It was the best vacation ever!

The property was perfect for our young family - the screened in porch allowed for many card games, meals (and a few naps!) within view of Lake Superior. We spent most of our days on the private beach, combing for interesting rocks and daring to go in the water. Dave provided excellent instructions and the house was just as described.

This is one of the best private beach properties on the island! It was great for our 1 year-old. Property was clean and the screened in porch is huge. The host is super accommodating and great to work with. Would recommend to anyone looking for a Madeline Island getaway!

Lovely holiday getaway

We had a delightful time in this shorefront property with a short wander down onto the beach. This Fall the colors of the leaves were majestic and while one of the days was rainy we enjoyed cosying up by the log fire and playing games. This is a well positioned cabin - quite rustic.

Loved sitting and reading on the screen porch and looking out at Lake Superior. Watched a rose-colored moon rise out of the lake. Pretty magical. This cabin is vintage Madeline Island. Enjoyed a last-minute weekend getaway with the family.

A beachfront paradise

We came to this cabin looking for a quiet, relaxing vacation. We were not disappointed! The location is perfect. We loved being able to walk down a few steps and enjoy the sandy beach. The cabin was comfortable with amazing views of the lake. We were also pleased with the comfortable beds. The owner made the check-in process easy and was available for questions if we had any. If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful location on Madeline Island, this cabin cannot be beaten!

My family has enjoyed Madeline for generations. My grandparents bought a cabin in the 1940's and at one time had a dentist office in the back. I have been coming to the island since I was a kid and loved the memories. In the late 80's I quit my job as an accountant for Price Waterhouse and started Motion to Go, a moped rental business. I got married at Big Bay Town Park where we carried 50 home made benches to create our own wedding chapel.

The Island is a magical place. We hope this house helps create your own lasting memories.

I believe in creating a quality experience. I am hoping that you experience that with your stay.
