Bask in the beauty of rural Vermont while nestled in the woods of a cozy cottage along the Green River. Sit on the front deck and enjoy the sounds of the river or stargaze while surrounded by the enchanting beauty of the rolling emerald hills. Right outside the door you can walk, bike or jog for miles on quiet scenic dirt roads. Located on a dirt road 20 minutes from Brattleboro and just a few miles from the Massachusetts border, our cottage is the perfect place to relax or enjoy all the area has to offer.
COTTAGE: Our three bedroom, one bath cottage, is the perfect escape for couples or groups. The right size to feel cozy on a romantic getaway and spacious enough to host a family/group of six. Custom touches throughout with our slate light switch covers and river rock knobs. Tastefully, simply decorated with unique wall art and furnishings.
We have a fully stocked kitchen- plenty of dishes, cutlery, cookware, cooking oil, spices. Gas range/oven, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, toaster oven and programmable drip coffee maker.
For entertainment we have a Roku device so you can stream on our 55” flat screen in living room and a 40" Smart TV in master bedroom. Hand drums, board games, adult and children’s books, as well as coloring books/crayons and children's toys.
**No baseboard heaters upstairs, so it stays cooler than main floor during cold weather, but we have lots of extra blankets to keep you toasty warm. We suggest placing one of our fans at the bottom of stairs to push the warm air up.** Both upstairs bedrooms have an A/C and we have four fans that will be there year round. There is also an A/C in the downstairs living room.
PRIVATE YARD: Private yard with gas grill and fire pit-we provide the wood. We have converted the garage into a patio area with a dining table where you can enjoy meals and be protected from the occasional summer thunder storm. A deck on the front of the house allows for the perfect place to listen to the river, enjoy morning coffee and evening libations, read a book, stargaze and watch the moonrise. There’s a picnic table behind our barn where you can drink in the serene sight and sounds of the brook.
Access the brook behind our barn— our property is bordered by Jelly Mill Brook and Green River.
We won’t be at the house to greet you. We respect your privacy and will not drop in. We do live right down the road if you need us for anything.
OUTDOOR ACTIVITES in IDYLLIC LOCATION : We live in an area popular with bikers, walkers, and runners for the MILES of quiet country dirt roads right outside the door. A mile and half down the road lands you in the quaint 1800s village of Green River complete with covered bridge, church, and small timber dam where you can swim and enjoy a picnic lunch.
OTHER THINGS to NOTE: *Located in Guilford, Vermont, we are a 20 minute drive from Brattleboro where you will find the nearest grocery stores, restaurants, and gas stations. You will also travel on about four miles of dirt road to get here.
*Winter tires or AWD/4WD are highly suggested during the winter months.*
*There is no cell service in our area. We do have WiFi and a landline.

This is a very comfy, very secluded place that’s not too far from anything but far enough to feel the nature. I recommend the Meadow and Acorn Beach down River Rd, and heading up Jelly Mill Rd to see the lake ls mill foundations.Noela and Mike are great and their place is as well. Not sure how comfy it’ll be when it’s hot, but I’ll come back and find out!

Daniel,
Thank you for leaving the house spotless and happy to hear you enjoyed your stay.
We have window a/c units for the downstairs living room AND both upstairs bedrooms which we typically install in May. Your first couple of days here were exceptionally warm for April but we still thought it was too early to put in the a/c's ;) Hope the fans helped.
Thank you again,
Noela

Very much off the beaten path, but lets you experience the beauty of Vermont. Quiet and peaceful. A beautiful little property that served our needs perfectly. Would definitely come back.
Great location, communicative and welcoming hosts, and great amenities. We loved grilling and using the firepit. The surrounding area is great to walk around in. Easy drive from here to Mt Snow.
Overall, the experience with renting from Noella and Mike is excellent. They are responsive and flexible. The house is perfect; it's spacious, very clean, good water pressure, and has everything that they advertise. I look forward to renting from them again.
Clean, comfy, and delightful. Well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, plenty of towels and hot water and electrical outlets. The hosts have taken great care with thoughtful and welcoming touches throughout. Miles of peaceful dirt roads to explore in every direction. Use WiFi to plan your outings because cell service is spotty throughout the whole area. We had a wonderful and relaxing time.
Gorgeous house with everything we needed! Really lovely and responsive hosts, as well. We loved the remote location with opportunities to swim in the river and at the Green River Dam. Dirt roads provide miles of scenic bicycling. A quiet and relaxing spot!
The Jelly Mill is in a quiet setting, surrounded by forest and with a lovely little river across the road. The house itself is very comfortable, clean and welcoming. Noela & Mike are great hosts and give very clear information. Overall, we found it to be a peaceful 'home base' for visiting local family.
Check in was easy, communication was fantastic and the place was very clean. We happened to go during the hottest part of the summer, so the place could be a little warm during the day. Overall though, it was just what we needed.
This property to date of our stays rates the highest marks for cleanliness. We had a great time and Noela and Mike were very responsive. It is a quiet house with incredible views of the mountains. We will stay here again.
This property was so clean and amazing. We heard the sounds of the creek across the road as soon as we pulled up. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The hosts were so kind and caring. Highly recommend if you are looking for a quiet and cozy place to stay.

About the host
Hosted by Noela and Mike
Mike and I were born and raised in Vermont and have lived in the Green River area of Guilford for 27 years. Seven years ago we bought this sweet little cottage down the road from us and completely renovated the interior. We are artisans with an online business, and work out of a shop on our property, right down the road from the cottage. You can see our work throughout the home—we handcraft slate switch plate covers and river rock knobs. We have a hands off approach to hosting—we value your privacy, but will be there if you need us for anything.
