Excellent stay. Beautiful cabin, comfortable space, full kitchen with silverware, flatware, oil, spices. Fantastic view. Very peaceful. Lovely place. Even had a little toy castle that my young daughter loved!
Beautiful location and setting, cabin was nice and atmospheric. Facilities worked well, check in and communication with the manager was excellent. Only issue was cleanliness and insects in beds and curtains and on the floor. Stink bugs/cockroaches and the property needs a deep spring clean. Dust in curtains and floor, surfaces etc.
Peaceful, private setting. The house had everything we needed & was very comfortable.Kitchen was well stocked & great for cooking meals for the family. Recommend a stay!!
It is a lovely cabin in a quiet, secluded woods by a quiet pond. We felt like the only people in the world. Yet it is not far to stores, parks, etc. Perfect to feel like you are camping in the woods, but have all the comforts of a well stocked home.

We loved this little cabin on Gates Pond! It was just perfect for our family with plenty of space. The setting is so so beautiful and secluded. There were some refrigerator issues that the owner and caretaker did their best to solve as quickly as possible. The house was super clean and comfortable and it had everything we needed for our stay…it felt like a cozy home away from home and we all enjoyed it so much! We definitely hope to stay there again next time we’re in town. Thank you!!!
The cabin itself is nice. We did experience some misses with the cleaners/property management. We arrived to find tasks were incomplete; there was our needed towels in the washer that we had to put into the dryer and turn stick in the bathroom, there was 2 bags of frozen food left out on the counters and there was no laundry soap left to wash our clothes which my traveling friend who came to stay one night was very much counting on having. The dining room light fixture had 3 bulbs burned out, I found some and replaced them. There was also no salt when my husband made us dinner one night, which was a surprise. We did buy both of the needed needed items for our stay. The cabin was cute and our stay was peaceful and the fireplace was a nice touch. I would stay again but thought I would pass along these suggestions that we experienced. Thank you for sharing your home!
Nice cozy cabin in the woods for our Thanksgiving getaway (Nov 2022). My husband and I enjoyed our stay here looking out over the partially frozen pond, watching the sunsets and sitting by the fire. We even had deer and grouse visit. It was a relaxing way to spend some time away. The cabin is cozy and well equipped.
We loved this stay!! Great all around!
Really pretty property with a nicely equipped kitchen and house. Exactly as advertised. Tons of space. Low maintenance renter expectations (very few checkout tasks).
The internet was good but not great, would not recommend for remote work. Had some connectivity issues during a strong wind storm. But no complaints.
We did lose GPS connection several times during the drive up, so take note of where you’re going beforehand. The actual driveway to the house is a little hidden and it took us several tries. The GPS does not lead to the actual house. (The turn off is on the left across from a speed limit sign.)

Disappointed
I've been using VRBO for about 6 years & this was my first experience with a company managing it for the property owner & it was a disappointment all the way. Some of the things we experienced are minor and if it were a person I was dealing with I would have let it slide (light bulbs out in several places, one room that the light couldn't be used at all as the wiring must have an issue). Conflicting information - the app for Evolve had one set of instructions, & the book at the property had another, frequently in direct conflict with each other. I never got a response to my text to the supposed contact for our stay. The dishes, pots, pans,& stove were covered in a sheen of grease. As we were being charged a very pricey cleaning fee for our 3-night stay, I absolutely expected better. There was no pot large enough to cook 6 ears of corn. We were utterly disgusted by the instructions to only remove the sheets/pillowcases - does that mean that the other bedding was not washed between guests?? Again, a large cleaning fee. Then there were the issues that I had before we even got there. Again, I've used VRBO for more than 6 years, with at least three trips per year. Generally, you get an email to pay the balance & you go from there. This time, Evolve just charged my card with no warning. Since I had never heard of them before and when I googled and came up with their website and didn't have any account with them, I flagged the transaction for fraud & went through unnecess

Hi Kathleen, thanks for letting us know about your stay. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they would like to share the following:
-"In terms of the lightbulbs, we have identified some that may require replacement, and rest assured, we will address this promptly. If you happen to be searching for a pot suitable for New England clambakes, you will find one conveniently located in the nearby cabinet.
-It is important to emphasize that the cleaning fee is a one-time charge per stay, and our dedicated cleaner services the property diligently after each guest's departure. We are wholeheartedly committed to providing transparent pricing, ensuring that all rates and fees are presented during the booking process before guests confirm their reservations.
-Regarding the concern about the sheen of grease on dishes, pots, pans, and stoves, our cleaner conducts a thorough inspection and cleaning process, which includes checking for any dishes left out, as well as cleaning the stove inside and out during each visit. It seems the dishes might have been put away in that manner by a previous guest.
-Additionally, it's important to note that our linens are diligently laundered between every stay. While it is a common practice in the industry for hotels to not wash bedspreads after every single use, we do make it a point to ensure that bedspreads are cleaned regularly.
- We've reviewed our records and found that Evolve had been in touch with you prior to your trip, confirming the final payment details for your stay.
-In response to your note about no one responding to texts, it's important to clarify that someone did indeed respond.
Our commitment to all our guests is to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests as evidenced in all other reviews."
Our family had a wonderful time at this cabin. We decorated gingerbread houses, while looking out at the frozen pond. The fire place was so cozy and inviting. Our entire family enjoyed this cabin, and it was fully stocked to accommodate young children. The toy selection was incredible. We will likely book again next year.
The view and the porch were nice....noticed a few issues inside that the owner should be aware of.....the damper in the fireplace was leaking causing the fireplace to be inoperable, the dishes were dirty, there was not enough linens for 6 adults to shower for 3 days.....bugs seemed to come up the kitchen drain and in the morning there would be alot of them in the sink....
