A nice quiet retreat situated about halfway between Burlington and Montreal, right on Lake Champlain. Plenty of room for the travel crate for our dog, with good wi-fi signal. We would definitely rate this as a top stay for us.
Liked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities, communication
Great place to stay for a quiet time away from normal life. Cabin neat and clean with great views of the lake and plenty of walking right out the front door.
We selected the cottage as a midway point between Montreal and Burlington and were able to do easy day trips to both. The cottage itself was super clean and the bed very comfortable. The deck provided a nice shaded area in the morning for relaxing. We enjoyed the peace and the comfort of the location!
The cottage was clean, comfortable and thoughtfully prepared. Plenty of kitchenware and appliances. I need my coffee, so the new coffee maker was great. We spent a lot of time down at the dock fishing, swimming, and kayaking. My wife, my 12 year old son, and I had a great time and we hope to visit again. If you go make sure to look at the night sky. I've never seen so many starts in my life.

Thank you Nick for reminding guests to look at the night sky! It is spectacular and there are some meteor showers coming up in August that are amazing.
We stayed here over the weekend of my Aunts 80th birthday. It was 5 minutes down the road from her home. Our particular cottage was small for 4 people, but very clean, comfortable and thoughtfully equipped with every thing but foods, beverages and personal items.
As soon as we arrived on the property and got settled in it was great to sit outside on the little porch and enjoy the peace and quiet under the stars. We had never seen a night sky so clear! The cottage was very clean and had everything that we needed. We even got out on the tandem kayak the next day and paddled around the lake for a while. This was truly a much needed escape for us and we enjoyed every part of our stay and look forward to staying here again!
All the week-end was beautiful , but if I come back, I will appreciate a path to the door because the grass was too long.
Moreover, we saw many ants.
Thanks and see you another time.

David, our host, greeted us at check-in. Throughout our 4 day stay, David was very helpful and informative.
We loved the great views, especially sitting in the front room. The cottage is located in a quiet lakeview setting. However, if you want access to cities, the cottage is also 1 hour from Burlington and 1 hour from Montreal (bring your passports!)
The building is a newly-renovated comfortable, cozy year-round cottage. The kitchen is well-stocked with plates, silverware, pots and pans, cooking implements, etc. (better than our kitchen at home!) We also made use of the stacked washer/dryer.
The beds were clean and comfortable. All of your linens are provided, including towels.
We certainly would stay here again!
We had a wonderful stay with David. Despite my not reading the check in email throughly (mom-of-a-baby brain), David was very welcoming and even gave us a call to ensure that we would be able to unlock the door and get into our rental. The place was immaculate and I am very picky. We brought our dog with us, who is as hypoallergenic as a dog can be, but I was worried that staying at a dog friendly place would make me itchy. Not at all! The floors were so clean! The location is right on the lake and we liked swimming at the rental much better than the park down the road. Alburgh is kind of in the middle of nowhere and it’s more than a half hour drive to places with a lot going on like St. Albans City so plan to enjoy nature a lot. We did! I think the listing is very representative of reality and we really enjoyed ourselves.
We have a wonderful time on lake Champlain. The cottage was cozy and welcoming - exactly as advertised - and it was very easy to communicate with our hosts. We would be very happy to return again.
We loved our stay in Alburgh. It was great to come back to visit a new area in VT. We loved day trips to the state park down the street and to Burlington. It was nice to kayak right from the property. We have a fun time hunting for fossils on the beach and in Isle La Motte. This was a beautiful place to reacharge and reconnect as a family.
The cottage was lovely and comfortable. We appreciated the grills; the facility lets the renters use the kayaks and has life jackets. We had a great time.
The experience of renting and checking in was super easy. The property manager responded to questions quickly. Overall great little camp in a beautiful location.
Sparkling clean, every little thing you could need- simple, solid, furniture, wonderful kitchen— and beautiful lake views with a playground for kids just down the road. Super friendly host. Loved it!

Dave and Lucy live in Burlington, Vermont, where Dave grew up, and where both graduated from UVM. They have two grown children, Emily and Max, who live out-of-state.
Why they chose this property
We saw the cottage, recognized its potential to become a lovely and inviting home, and turned it into one!
What makes this property unique
Dave and Lucy love the openness of the land in Alburgh. It allows you to fully appreciate what the sky has to offer: amazing cloud formations; storms approaching over the lake; breath-taking sunrises and sunsets, moonrises and moonsets; full rainbows and double rainbows; birds such as osprey, gulls, and an occasional bald eagle. We love it all, and it is constantly changing and surprising us!
