The house was cute and comfortable but needed a lot of improvements. The front door is very difficult to open and none of the windows open. So the backdoor is the only access, which will be a problem if there's a fire. The house wiring needs to be updated, e.g., the hot plate was plugged into an extension cord, and only one element of the hot plate was working. There is no working stove or oven, which we did not realize until we were there. The hot water faucet in the bathroom needs to be fixed. The back steps are rickety and need to be replaced, and the entire yard needs to be landscaped. It's now just weeds with a few trees and bushes
This house has a lot of potential, but it's a work in progress. It's not really ready to be listed as a VRBO.
This is a charming and quaint VRBO. It has all the historical features and you feel as if you have stepped back in time. I have stayed in several VRBO'S in Baker City and this is my favorite. If you need to get work done there is no WIFI so you are forced to take time off and enjoy Baker City.
