We were only there for a night, to rest up after a large road trip. Comfy beds, laundry, a well stocked kitchen for cooking, peace and restful quite before what turned out to be a 9 hour drive home (was supposed to 6). We're planning a trip back to spend a few days.

Nice option for trip to Anthony Lakes

Nice home; very comfortable. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen had all the things we needed for cooking and we enjoyed using the grill. Good location - very close to Safeway and restaurant options. The only discrepancy with the listing was that it included a hot tub as an amenity, which we looked forward to, since we were going skiing at Anthony Lakes. There was no hot tub available, but we could see construction/building going on in the backyard, so we assumed it was temporarily unavailable and the hosts merely forgot to remove that amenity from the listing. No big deal, but if someone was adament about a hot tub, they would be disappointed. Everything else was great, and when we thought we left an iphone at the house after checking out, the host was super gracious and offered to double check for it (we found it). Would recommend; would stay again.

We were there for my son’s Shriners football game for the weekend. The manager came to our house at 9pm to tell us we had too many people there. They were keeping eyes out on the ring camera to count the amount of people we had. No where does it say on the website extra company has to leave by midnight or you will get charged for them. They did not communicate that until the next morning when they charged me and extra 303. And gave me 2 or 3 hours to pay it or we would get kicked out with no refund. They sent it as a Message to Vrbo. So luckily I happened to see it and be able to know she was doing that. They had lots of spider webs in the house. Found a brown recluse in the shower and also rat poop in window seals. Lots of dead bugs. So needless to say we won’t be back.

Response from VrboOwner on 27 Dec 2025
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear the stay did not meet expectations. For clarity for future guests, this reservation was booked for 2 guests; however, there were 7 unauthorized overnight guests, along with additional visitors coming and going. Our house rules require all overnight guests to be registered and visitor limits and quiet hours to be followed. We attempted to resolve the situation promptly through the platform and with the assistance of VRBO support. After receiving neighbor concerns regarding excessive vehicles and late-night activity, we also made an in-person visit and were assured the issue would be resolved; unfortunately, it was not. The Ring doorbell is a clearly disclosed exterior security device used solely for property safety and occupancy compliance. The home is professionally cleaned, regularly maintained, and routinely treated for pests, and we have had no prior or subsequent reports consistent with the claims mentioned. We remain committed to maintaining a safe, clean, and respectful environment for our guests, neighbors, and community.

We love that it offers a quieter residential setting while still being close to local restaurants, cafés, breweries, shops, parks, museums, and year-round outdoor recreation. Guests can easily enjoy the charm of historic Baker City, take a walk along the Leo Adler Pathway, visit the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center, golf at Quail Ridge, or head up to Anthony Lakes for skiing, hiking, biking, and beautiful mountain scenery.

What makes this property unique

Liberty House is a remodeled 1920 Baker City home that blends older-home character with comfortable modern updates. Like many homes from this era, it has its own charm, including some areas where the floors may not be perfectly level, while still offering central heat and air conditioning, high-speed Wi-Fi, a dedicated work area, washer and dryer, a 65-inch TV, and comfortable gathering spaces.
