La Taniere - spacious ski-in/ski-out apartment in Les Gets located on the piste

Genuinely ski-in/ski-out ground floor apartment on piste 300 metres above Les Gets. It has back doors opening to a view/ access of the main piste which is only 10 metres away !!! Ideal for winter & summer rentals with heated pool & tennis court, plus easy access to swimming lake and other attractions.
New for 2018/9 season - additional toilet on main living floor, new TV room & separate laundry room plus secure bike store.

BEDROOMS

The apartment is extremely spacious (110 sq. metres) and will comfortably sleep up to 8 people.

There are 2 large double/twin bedrooms (one with children's bunks) plus a 'Coin Montagne' (curtained bunk beds with truckle).

LIVING AREA

Spacious open plan living/dining room with TV/DVD etc with a selection of films, leading to a dining area with a table that can seat up to 8 people. There is also a ski and boot locker by the door leading to the piste.

The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, hob,

Family trip to Les Gets

Property is excellent (a bit quirky but all the better for it) is a great size and in a great location. Had everything you could need plus secure parking and storage. Comm's with owner prior to trip were excellent and info provided about the property and the area was all tip top. Would definitely stay again.

Arrangements were super easy with Morven, the owner, who also supplied regular updates and local information. The apartment is very comfortable and social for open plan living. Dual aspect means it’s very light and bright. The location for ski in/out is the best in the area.

Great size, greater location

We stayed at the apartment as a group of 6 adult friends and family. The space of the apartment was absolutely brilliant, we weren't tight at all. Walking out of the back door into the pool area and straight onto the piste was amazing. The two bathrooms and 3 toilets were very useful, as was the sauna for those aching legs. The free night bus runs up the main road from 8:30pm until 11:30pm, so no worries about walking up the hill from town. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend.

Superb Family summer location

Fantastic location for access to bike park, lac, pump track,resturants plus much more. A short walk straight down the hill to the tourist office, main lift and shops. Well equipped apartment for family's and the pool was a big attraction for all ages. Secure bike lock up and underground parking was also included. Great communication with the property manager, we would recommend this place to our friends.

Ladies Ski Break

Communication before we arrived was fantastic and to be met on arrival by the Property Manager who spent plenty of time showing us around the property and discussing the local amenities was well above our expectations. We opened the back door to look over the ski slope and enjoyed our apres ski sat overlooking the last skiers. The property was spacious and comfortable and we felt spoilt as a group of 5 ladies with such a lovely space and comfort. It was a 15 minute walk to the town (if you weren't skiing straight there) but that was quite pleasant at the end of an evening in Les Gets. We would definitely love to come back to this beautiful apartment on the slopes. Thank you for our lovely stay.

Lovely short trip

The apartment is located in a cracking position just off the main piste leading down into Les Gets allowing true ski-in/ski-out convenience. It is a large space and had more than enough room for the four of us with all the mod cons you're likely to require after a day on the slopes, including fast enough internet to keep two teenagers happy. The walk to the village is down the main road into the village. It's fairly steep, but fine so long as you are relatively fit and it's not too busy either. There is an hourly free bus if you can't handle the walk. The ski area is lovely and we especially enjoyed our morning on Pointe de Cherry where the slopes were empty and the snow sensational. Sadly, a rather poorly timed sickness bug cost us the day we planned to drive to the Ardent lift and venture to Avoriaz and beyond, but despite that we had a fantastic trip. The relatively short drive of 75 minutes to Geneva make the resort ideal for a long weekend too.

The apartment itself it pretty spacious, especially the living and dining areas, the bedrooms are also a decent size with plenty of storage. Communication with the hosts before and during the stay were excellent. could not have asked for anything more. Sauna is a nice feature. Kitchen has everything you'd ever need. A couple of points to note - the apartment needs a bit of TLC, shower heads would not stay up for example. bathroom light not working upstairs. The layout is a bit bizarre and downstairs is a bit of a nightmare for tall people, spent a lot of time banging our head and feet. The ski in ski out is fantastic, however its worth noting that if you were not a confident skier, although very short, its a reasonably steep run into the village.

Morven was really helpful and very quick to respond.The apartment was situated right on the piste just above the main Chavannes chair and bubble - it's the bottom of a blue run. We had a lot of snow and a lot of rain during our stay which made it tricky for the all out beginners in our group but my 7 year old who is about 1star level in ESF lessons found it no issue to get down.The apartment is very well kitted out with everything you need for self catering. We cooked on 3 out of 6 nights,The small trade off is that it's either a 15 minute walk into town and 20 to 25 minutes back uphill with kids) but the free shuttle is regular and very punctual - can be picked up at the bottom of Gibannaz - about a 5 minute walk.The sauna was good, easy to use and heated up quickly and the showers were also great.

Wir waren im Sommer hier und die Lage ist super! Die Unterkunft ist direkt am Berg und man kann mit dem Bike direkt den Hang hinunter zum Lift fahren. Auch der Pool ist für warme Tage super! Es gibt viele Appartements in dem Objekt , so dass viele Bewohner auch an der Terrasse vorbei laufen müssen.Das kleine Schlafzimmer hat kein Fenster nach draußen. Einiges in der Wohnung ist in die Jahre gekommen.Die Komminikatuon mit der Gastgeberin hat sehr gut funktioniert.

Séjour à la tanière

Appartement situé au dessus de la piste principale, accessible par le tire-fesses boule de gomme, à 10 mètres. Le centre des Gets est accessible à pieds en 10-15 min mais un peu dangereux car pas de trottoirs. Il y a cependant des navettes..Appartement agréable, bien équipé, 2 chambres avec une bonne literie + un coin cabine avec lits superposés. Une bonne communication avec le gérant qui a été réactif suite à une fuite de la douche. Je recommande.

De accommodatie is super ingericht - servies/potten/pannen, alles is overvloedig aanwezig. De ruimtes zijn mooi groot voor 6 volwassen personen. Perfecte uitvalsbasis om te gaan skiën en gemakkelijk bereikbaar om 's middags in het huisje te gaan eten. Eigenaar Morven en host terplaatse (Tom) zijn super behulpzaam. Een echte aanrader !!

Un appartement très agréable conforme aux photos avec une situation parfaite (sur les pistes). Un accueil chaleureux et appartement propre, spacieux et cosy avec toute commodité nécessaire. Seul bémol, nous n avons pas pu utiliser le sauna non nettoyé et qui dégageait une forte odeur de moisissure / renfermé.

Lovely apartment for ski in ski out.

We were a party of 5 and we found the accomodation to be really nice, clean and spacious. It also is ski in and ski out as it is on the main chavanne piste. The only downsideis that it is a litte way into the main town if you want to walk to a restaurant or the shops but there are free buses that run regularly which make it easier. We would definately stay here again if visiting Les Gets.

The apartment location is perfect for ski in ski out. Right next to the main piste. We drove to the accommodation and struggled a little in our rental car to get up the hill, so if it has snowed recently I suggest winter tyres!! The accommodation itself is well laid out and had more than enough space for my party of 3. Would easily fit 2 small families in my opinion. Walk to town was easy enough and the night bus on the way home was really handy. Skiing in Les Gets is great for all levels, but is especially geared up for families and learner skiers I think. Lastly, communication with the chalet owner was exceptional and if opportunity arises, I would happily stay here again.

Summer family holiday in the Alps

Les Gets is a very nice area if you like an outdoor holiday - hiking, mountain biking, lake swimming etc. The apartment has a pool and tennis court right next to it, which we enjoyed using. The living area of the apartment is very spacious and comfortable with a big dining table, WIFi, comfy sofas, a good selection of DVDs and books. The kitchen is functional with a dishwasher and full oven - much better than your average ski apartment (but bring baking trays, a chopping board and microwaveable dishes!). The layout is slightly strange with one double bedroom having no windows and the bathrooms down a very steep set of spiral stairs. We were a family of 4 so could avoid using the windowless room! Luckily they have installed an upstairs toilet (but it is very noisy so not ideal at night....) All in all we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others.

We really enjoyed our stay in La Taniere - the location is great, a real ski in/ski out - which is rare to find. We are two families who, after 20 years of skiing together have at last decided to buy a property in what we believe to be the best location for Winter and Summer holidays. With easy transfer time from the Airport and perfect location near the heart of Les Gets, we believe that we have furnished La Taniere with all the necessary amenities to cater for the best family holiday !

Why they chose this property

We love skiing in the Porte du Soleil which is the biggest linked ski area in Europe covering two countries and twelve ski resorts and you can access the whole region from Les Gets. So it is never boring for the average skier.

Our children also LOVE Les Gets especially The Grand Cry Territory which is a play area themed on native American Indians. It features two slopes with raised bends and a series of bumps. There are friendly 'native-entertainers' who offer to face-paint all young visitors and a Wigwam with traditional games and music. There are treasure hunts every Friday and an Easter egg Hunt on Skis every Easter.

We are also aware that not everyone wants to ski. Les Gets caters extremely well for non skiers with a good selection of activities available including Tobogganing, Dog Sledging, Snowshoeing. Also the village has a 10 pin bowling alley, Cinema, Beauty Salon & Wellness Centre, an Outdoor Iceskating rink flood lit at night and the famous museum of mechanical music.

What makes this property unique

La Taniere's location is second to none! We chose this apartment (after viewing many) for it's fabulous position directly on the main slope (GENUINE ski in and out !) and its spacious living space. Ski school is a 2 min ski away and is perfect for children and beginners alike. The sauna is an added luxury after a good day's skiing!

We can offer a catering service, a meet & greet service, and can have ski passes delivered on arrival. We can even supply contacts for discounted ski hire and airport transfers. (please ask for more details)

In the summer the Alps are a hidden treasure! La Taniere has the benefit of a fenced heated swimming pool right outside the door and a well maintained tennis court, both freely available to guests. It is also but a 5 min walk across the slope to a swimming lake with additional fun activities (see our website). For mountain bikers, Les Gets is a dream! and we provide secure bike storage.
