Everything was amazing. Wonderful home away from home with everything provided. Thank you for such a great home. Only thing that scared me was the road leading to the house,,lol, but we survived. Overall an awesome experience, my kids and parents and I loved it. Thank you for letting us stay.
Great location in the mountains with easy access to Maggie Valley and Waynesville.
Really enjoyed the peacefulness of the cabin and we got to see snow. It would be nice to have firewood already there rather than having to go find some. We had a great time!
We had a wonderful time at Elk Path. The creek kept the kids mesmorized. Peter was awesome when we needed him and he answered all of our questions. We will definitely be back!
We arrived the property wasn’t available. Peter has been difficult refusing to refund our money.
We never stayed in the property. Property was being remodeled. Peter changed our booking dates to only give us a partial refund, Horrible experience!
When we walked in the front door, we we in awe! It was a beautiful 2 story cabin with a view that could make you cry. You can hear the creek from the porch, which is so relaxing. The path down to the creek is nice, make sure if you go down at night definitely take a flashlight, it gets dark. The hosts were very accommodating and easy to contact. The only thing to bring to attention is the drive up to the cabin, it is gravel and you will want to take a 4 wheel drive or something equivalent. We would definitely go back and for longer.
My family stayed at this cabin for our Christmas holiday and we had a lovely time. The location is private with amazing mountain views and boasts a quick walk to a charming creek. We were in an F-250 with 4x4 capabilities and had no difficulty making the trek up the steep inclined drive to the cabin. The only complaint for our family was the pots and pans, although were plentiful, they were in rough shape. The internet was spotty but that wasn't a huge deal for us. For a family of 6, the sleeping arrangments were comfortable and there was plenty of space where we didn't feel like we were on top of each other. This is the cabin for you if you want that remote and private vibe while being close to restaurants, museums, and outdoor activities.
You should really have a 4x4 to get up the road prior to the house. We got stuck so my husband had to try and fix the road so we could get back down. Luckily our daughter was staying close by and picked us up with their vehicle. Other than that we loved our stay. Very peaceful with the sound of the creek from the deck! There is a beautiful walkway to the creek. Plenty of towels and dishes to use and a nice assortment of games our grandkids loved when the came to visit. The internet is very slow so be prepared not to have cell service. There is a landline to use if needed. All in all, except for the road, we loved our stay.
We've stayed in several VRBOs in Maggie Valley, and Elk Path is one of the nicest! We stayed here for nine days. It is definitely remote, which is nice. We saw a herd of about 20 elk in the road on our drive up to the cabin the first day, which was really quite amazing (and maybe a little scary, because they were so close to our car and the bull wasn't too happy... but it was a once in a lifetime experience)!! We saw another (possibly the same) bull elk two more times during our stay. It was so cool!
The cabin was very clean, well-stocked with kitchen items, and the necessities. We loved the notebook about the cabin and the helpful guides for things to do around Haywood County. It is a beautiful location with the creek right near the house. The path to the creek is wonderful!! We had a great time making fires and roasting marshmallows/making smores (though seating around the firepit to relax in would be nice as there is just a picnic table). Our daughter loved having her own master bedroom/bath, and says the bed was so comfortable!! She loved it! The bed upstairs is not as comfortable as it's pretty soft. That's probably more of a preference thing though.
I'd say something to consider for this property that isn't necessarily mentioned much is the drive... the last stretch is rough, as the roads are single lane, and are rutted out. While we were told we didn't need 4WD/AWD, I think it's a good thing we rented AWD. Just things renters should consider.
All in all, a wonderful and clean cabin that I would recommend!!!
Had to park at the bottom there was no way to get up but cabin was nice

Beautiful House in the Woods
This is a wonderful accommodation. It is very secluded and tastefully furnished. However, there is very limited cell phone service and practically no internet. Four wheel drive is helpful on the road leading to the house.
The property was clean and will kept. We had a few issues with the road because we didn't have 4 wheel drive but the property manager was extremely responsive and helpful in finding resolution. All in all, we have a good stay.
It was a very nice remotely located property which was what we were looking for. Although it was close to downtown Waynesville, the Blue Ridge Parkway and nicely located to make a day trip to Pigeon Forge. The creek and waterfall were a huge hit with our daughter and the massive bull elk that seemed to stay around our location was excellent too.
Beautiful and recommend highly!
I loved the property the cabin was on. Beautiful scenery and the freshest air you'll ever breath. Unfortunately, the residence had a mice problem. We didn't notice until our last few days but, mice carry diseases so I thought it was a little nasty that we saw more than one mouse in the cabin.
Other than that, beautiful place. I hope they get rid of the mouse problem soon, I would love to visit again.
This is a great cabin for a family! Close to the Blue Ridge Parkway and away from the crowds. The trail to the creek from the cabin was huge hit with the kids. Driveway is steep but we are in a 4x4 so no problem there. Would stay here again.
We had a great time staying in the cabin. The view is beautiful and the home has everything you could desire. We really enjoyed our day trips into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Asheville, Waynesville, Dillsboro, Bryson City, and Cherokee. Our drives on the Blue Ridge Parkway were spectacular! The WiFi reception is on and off and the cell phone connections are poor. The road to the cabin is very steep and requires off road driving experience. Overall, we had a fabulous time!
House was very clean, sound of running stream below was relaxing. Advertised to sleep 8 but beds only for 6. Gravel road a little tricky getting up, but learned the trick on how to get up. I would definitely rent again. Enjoyed the cooler temperatures at the higher altitude.
A wonderful home, quietly tucked away in the beautiful landscape. All we could hear was the babbling creek behind the house. A very short drive to multiple excursions. We went white water rafting, hiked and visited waterfalls, all to return to a peaceful evening around the fire pit. The home was immaculate and well stocked, truly a home away from home!
