THE ULTIMATE ROMANTIC GETAWAY BY THE CREEK - Come and see God's natural beauty displayed for your enjoyment! Secluded on a beautiful 20 acre tract in gated Leatherwood Mountains. A Luxury One Bedroom Log Cabin built by a local architect husband / wife team that put 3 years into building this beautiful log cabin. You will love the complete privacy of the surrounding wildlife and a year-round rocky creek you see from every room. Take note of the master bathroom! It is as if you are outside while relaxing in our jet tub or enjoying our rain shower. The outdoor salt water hot tub is great for a soothing massage while listening to the creek and sounds of the forest, without any harsh chemicals to irritate sensitive skin, so all can enjoy!

The creek waterfalls are lit along the way so you can enjoy the sights and sounds of the creek even in the evening. (The light switch for the nighttime creek lights is inside the master bathroom... and you can shut it off when you like.) The property comes alive at night! The hammock trail is also lit, along with the moonshine still. :o)
Brand new deck has just been completed that overlooks the creek. Great place for morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening.

We have a fireplace (during cold winter months) and are allowed 2 armfuls of wood. We advise to stop by Walmart or Lowes Hardware (or any store that sells bundles of wood) if you are a lover of fires and intend on using more than the allowable amount. We do ask that you do NOT bring any "DURAFLAME" or similar products to be used in the fireplace. Please use wood only. The waxy buildup from these products is horrible on our chimney and can actually cause chimney fires. Please do not bring any liquid flame starter to the cabin to be used in the fireplace. Bring newspaper for starting fires please. You will want to bring extra wood anyway so that you can enjoy the new fire pit we just built. It is a great place to sit and relax, and enjoy nature!

Creekside Cabin is built within a private equestrian development known as Leatherwood Mountains, located close to Blue Ridge Parkway, Boone, Blowing Rock and Wilkesboro.

** SOMETHING TO POINT OUT ** At time of booking, if you choose not to do the $59 insurance policy, VRBO will charge you the maximum amount of $1500 refundable deposit. (Their policy, not ours) Just wanted to prepare you for that large refundable deposit if you choose not to do the insurance policy.

Activities: Good fishing at Elk Creek (License Required), Community Tennis Court & Swimming Pool(summer), Wilkesboro YMCA -Good GYM- on NC268, about 20 miles from Leatherwood. My favorite things to do is take a scenic drive through Blue Ridge Parkway stop at several beautiful spots for picnic and leisurely stroll along easy trails or hike to waterfalls. Grandfather Mountain is a well known spot along the Parkway. You can go to Blowing Rock, a small resort town with nice shops and restaurants about 25 miles away. You can do white water rafting, canoeing or zip line adventure though the outfitters in Boone. There are many miles of horse back trail rides through Leatherwood Mountains stable or other stables in Boone area. There are several wineries to explore in the nearby areas. Most of our guests just want to stay around the cabin and relax in the private mountain setting. Bring groceries because I bet you will feel the same way!
