About this property
Log Cabin home on the Sturgeon River in Indian River
Relax by the Sturgeon River or enjoy the fresh air on the back porch of our fully furnished log home, watching the ducks play and float past. Our lodge is tucked away on a quiet road that follows the Sturgeon River and yet is also right in town. Walk or bike ½ mile into downtown Indian River to shop with Devoe Beach on Burt Lake, the Indian River, and bike / snowmobile trails less than a mile away. Enjoy kayaking, canoeing, or tubing down the Sturgeon River and Indian River. Fish for trout or walleye right in from the edge of the backyard. At the end of the day, enjoy sitting by the firepit.
Our Lodge:
After your adventures, wind down with a cool house during summer turning on central air when necessary or stay toasty with the gas fireplace during the winter.
Your group will sleep comfortably in 3 bedrooms with 2 containing queen beds and one containing both a queen and twin bed. Getting ready in the morning is easy with 2 bathrooms. In the evening, play games at the dinner table, watch a movie on 47” flat screen TV, or curl up in the loft to read a book or surf the web (free high speed WiFi). For mealtime, dine out, enjoy dinner in the backyard watching the wildlife and river, or dine inside using the fully equipped kitchen.
Our lodge sits back from the road with plenty of driveway for whatever toys you may bring with you.

Enjoy Indian River’s Summerfest the 3rd week in July, or the Top O’ Michigan boat races in August. Venture a little further to swim in spectacular waterfalls about 30 miles east at Ocqueoc Falls.

Hello, we’re Curt & Jerilynn
We were both born in Michigan down state, and while we’ve lived elsewhere, Michigan has remained our home - and Indian River our happy place for multiple generations of our family - which we are fortunate enough to live in full time since early 2016.
We enjoy jet skiing and boating through the natural wildlife habitat on Burt and Mullet lakes, living on the fabulous fast flowing & spring fed Sturgeon River, watching the ducks float down the river any time of the year, snowmobiling on the hundreds of miles of local trails, or simply going out to dinner at the fantastic local eateries.
We hope you’ll come visit our Lazy Sturgeon Lodge and fall in love with all that Northern Michigan’s wildlife, trees, lakes and rivers have to offer as we have.

Why they chose this property
We live nearby on the Sturgeon River, and the never ending, refreshing and clean spring fed flow is a calming and peaceful wonder. Between canoeing & kayaking, fishing and floating the Sturgeon, and the 38 miles of Inland lakes and waterways that it spills into at Burt lake 2 miles downstream, this part of Michigan is a nature lover's paradise.
