Mountain View Home - Spectacular Sawtooth Mountain Views

This log home is situated at the base of the Sawtooth Mountains just outside the rustic town of Stanley in the heart of the Sawtooth National Recreation Area. It has one of the most spectacular views of the Sawtooth Mountains as any property in the area and offers guests luxury, privacy, and affordability. The living room, dining room, primary bedroom, and bunk room each have large picture windows looking out toward the Sawtooths so you can enjoy them from sunrise to sunset. The primary bathroom has a jetted tub with barn doors that open to the primary bedroom and look out toward the mountains. It is tastefully furnished with hand-made log beds and a 680 sq. ft. ironwood deck with a picnic table and benches.

The property is a mecca for white water river rafting, kayaking, mountain biking, rock climbing, blue-ribbon fly-fishing, steelhead fishing, hunting, hiking, and horseback riding. There are over 60 miles of groomed snowmobile trails in the winter and countless snowshoeing and cross country skiing areas. It is 10 minutes from Redfish Lake Lodge, offering boating, water skiing, canoeing, and swimming. This property is perfect for anyone who wants to get away from the city to relax and enjoy the outdoors and yet is an easy one-hour drive over beautiful Galena Pass to all the amenities and activities of Sun Valley.

This home is available Year-round. We begin taking 5-night+ reservations for the following year’s season on November 1st. 3-night+ reservations are accepted after April 15th. Stays less than 3 nights are not accepted.

Location: The home is located on a hillside inside the city limits of Stanley, making it a perfect location for walking into town to enjoy the local restaurants and bars. There are other homes on the hillside; however, their location to each other affords a great deal of privacy. Pioneer Park is behind the property accessed by stepping over the fence.

Beds: 2 queen-sized beds; 4 twin-sized bunk beds.

Bedrooms: 2 private bedrooms and a large bunkroom. The primary bedroom is on the main level; the second bedroom and bunkroom are upstairs.

Bathrooms: 2 full baths, each with a tub/shower combination. The primary bathtub is jetted and opens into the main bedroom through barn wood doors.

Amenities: Sawtooth Mountain views, large deck with a custom-built picnic table, deck chairs, propane gas barbecue, free-standing propane stove in the living room, solar shades, washer and dryer, dishwasher, microwave, WiFi, TV w/DVD player (no TV service), local telephone service, fully stocked kitchen, linens, towels, soaps.

Wonderful stay

We stayed for a week at this property, and it was absolutely wonderful. The house is comfortable and well appointed, and the view is breathtaking. It is close to town and a quick drive to loads of hiking and outdoor activities. The owners were so lovely. We can't wait to go back!

Stunning views, beautiful cabin

We stayed at this cabin for our adventure elopement in the Sawtooths. The cabin was immaculately clean and 100% accurately described. That said, there are no words to prepare you for the view. It is out of this world. Kids enjoyed the bunk room; partner and I enjoyed the comfy couch. The jetted tub was awesome after a long hike. One more comment: this cabin is so beautiful, our photographer who accompanied us back to the cabin for additional photos joked that she was going to require other clients book the same cabin because the views from the back deck were gorgeous, and she was able to capture things like us cutting our cake and toasting with our sons with the mountains in the background.

Most Remarkable View of the Sawtooths

Mountain View Home provides the ultimate picturesque view of Stanley, Idaho! Located with a children's playground in the "backyard", within an easy downhill walk to Stanley Bakery for morning coffee, yet it's elevation is a buffer from the everyday traffic sounds of the town below. It is a perfect property for peace and quiet!

Mountain View Home provides you with the best view of the Sawtooth Mountains in Stanley!! Right out your backdoor in one direction is access to a safe and unencumbered running trail and in the opposite direction is a ten minute walk to morning coffee and friends at the Stanley Baking Company, while the front of the house offers an incredibly beautiful vista of the mountains.

Winter Wonderland

Or stay at this location felt so special. Since our stay was mid-winter, the valley and mountains were covered in snow, but the house was easily accessible with an AWD Subaru. The pictures very accurately represent the house and the porch is even larger than we originally thought, making it a great place for hanging outside.

A must stay in Stanley for winter lovers

We had a great experience staying at this property. We visited for Christmas. The view from the house in breath taking! The house is well furnished and equipped with games and puzzles too. Sari was really helpful when our car got stuck in the snow as well. We visited a number of hot springs in the area. I would not think twice about visiting this place again.

Beautiful location with room to roam!

This house made a wonderful basecamp in Stanley. We had 5 adults and a 4 year old, we found the room with the bunk beds to be the most spacious so it was perfect for the kiddo and parents. Plus it had the best views! Overall, it was a great stay. The views from the house were amazing. Town was only a few minutes away, and the city park and playgrounds back up to the property. Our kiddo loved watching the planes take off and land from the airport. Couldn't have been happier! Plus, our golden retriever was right at home. We had a few small frustrations...the bunk room didn't have a door, only a curtain. This made it a little louder as well as warmer. We also found a few broken window mechanisms resulting in reduced airflow in the bunk room and bathroom, but it was only a problem when the temps are rising. The kitchen also could have been cleaner (marinara splatters on the counter) and some bedspreads were pretty dusty. All in all, we would definitely return to this house!

Our favorite VRBO we’ve ever stayed in! Enjoyed just sitting on the deck watching the pronghorn, listening to the sandhill cranes, and taking in the view of the Sawtooths. Kids played at the playground close by at the town park. Cabin was very tidy and clean.

Amazing View, Beautiful House

This house and location are as beautiful as the pictures. My husband, our dog, and I had a wonderful 4 days here. I wish we could have stayed longer but we will definitely be back. 6 more people could have stayed, there was plenty of room. We didn’t even use the upstairs! The view is gorgeous. And the house is built so you can open the doors and see the view will take a bath in the jetted tub...of course I had to do that! The area was quiet too. Several houses around but no one was home. Town is very close and there is a public park next door that was great for walking the dog. But the entrance was from the other side so no traffic or people on our private road. Just sitting on the deck and looking at the view was as relaxing as it gets.. It was a perfect vacation in a beautiful house.

First off, I really needed a relaxing vacation in a spectacular location. We have been to Stanley several times, so I know the area and the view, but always stayed in town. This trip, our three kids and their significant others wanted to join my wife and myself, so a VRBO home was required. So I went for what looked online to be the perfect house for us. AND IT WAS!! The house was spotless on our arrival. The instruction booklet was complete. I should have read it before I texted Sari with stupid questions, but she was patient and responsive. The kitchen was well stocked with spices. The BBQ worked perfectly. We cooked all our dinners at the house and there were plenty of pots, pans and plates. The dishwasher worked just fine and was quiet. And the deck with the view....It just takes your breath away. The house is located on the top of a hill so the view is unobstructed. There were antelope in the meadow every day. Stanley is a dark sky town and at night the stars and planets just pop. Shooting stars galore. The shower has great pressure and we never ran out of hot water with 8 of us there. Washer and dryer means we didn't need to pack for 8 days. I was kind of expecting to find some indications of mice, but there were none. The entire house has huge windows looking at the Sawtooths. It was cold in the morning and hot in the afternoons. The sun does beat down on the uncovered deck, but we were gone every afternoon so made no difference to us. If there had been a deck roof, then we couldn't have gazed at the stars so easily. Staying here is really a no brainer if you can afford it. But for a special vacation, you can't go wrong with this house.

Gary and Sari moved to Stanley as full-time residents in 2008. Before settling in Stanley, Sari worked in a real estate trust department, served as a commercial loan analyst, founded and directed a Christian education organization, and raised two sons. The younger son, Scott, and his wife Ashlee are actively involved in the business. When not working on vacation rentals, they travel the world as photographers with O'Malley Photographers. They have three sons whose favorite place in the world is Stanley, Idaho.
