Poorly maintained cabin, not for families
This house was dissapointing and not at all the quality we usually get in a VRBO. Though it had not snowed in several days, the stairs and walkway was covered in ice, very dangerous for unloading. Luckily no one fell. First impression of the house is the smell. It smells like stale cigarette smoke and pets. When we got home, I had to wash everything in our suitcases. Next you see a large crack in the wall which is concerning. When we loaded up the pantry where we found a used kitty litter box and scooper, opened jugs of anti freeze and Round Up. All on the first shelf of a low cabinet in the kitchen. I was shocked to see those chemicals in the house, where children can easily access. The house is poorly stocked. We noticed no dishwasher pods which is likely why almost every dish we pulled out of the cupboard was dirty. The house lacked basics like trash bags, foil, ziplock, coffee/sugar, handsoap (only sanitizer) in the bathrooms, not even a wine glass to be found. Regular items like coffee maker and hair dryer were miniature, smaller than you would find in a hotel. A 5 cup pot only so we had to make several pots each morning and a palm size hair dryer. At bedtime, we discovered the down comforter in the master was not covered with a duvet, I have never seen that, that is unsanitary. There was no rug or mat in the guest bath. Though there is a spa, there is no towels for the spa or any hooks to hang your towels. The furniture and linens were very old and the ceiling is littered with spiderwebs and an inch of dust on the fan. Countless items are broken or missing. Broken snow shovel, broken fireplace shovel, missing headrests on the spa, kitchen tools broken. The interior walls and door are in poor shape with pet damage and holes. A runner came out to deliver a few of the missing items, I let them know the alarm had been going off saying the battery is low. It beeped everyday during the kid's naptime and I texted the manager about it, but no one showed up to fix it. We would not stay here again and would not recommend it.
