About this property
Enjoy the peace and tranquility of Loon Lake and Bass Pond
If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful getaway deep in the Adirondacks this is the spot for you. This 3 bedroom house sits directly across from Bass Pond with your own access to the water for great swimming and peaceful mornings with coffee in hand. The pond is ideal for families with kids with a soft sandy bottom at the entrance of the pond. We provide a canoe, an adult kayak and a childrens kayak. There are horseshoes, volleyball, bean bag toss, dvd's, plenty of board games, a library and while we don't keep it out in the open as to maintain a cabin feel we provide a flatscreen TV and a PS3 you are welcome to take out and use during your stay.
0.2 miles away is the boat launch for 3 mile long loon lake. We provide pull behinds if you want to walk to canoe or kayaks down to Loon lake for a day of fishing or paddling through the many coves. Loon lake offers amazing Northern Pike and small mouth bass fishing. There are plenty of hikes in the area available from your front door. Trout streams abound in the area for those willing to grab a pole and take a drive.
Historic Lake Placid is about 45 minutes away if you are in the mood for a 5 star meal, bowling, a movie or a massage.
The cabin is very quiet and remote. The road is paved and maintained with only 5 other cabins on the street. Wireless can be made available upon request for a small fee.
Note there is no cell phone coverage at the cabin. Wireless calling is available with smartphones otherwise the nearest cell signal is about 5 minutes outside of the camp

Having grown up in Saratoga Springs I fell in love with the Adirondacks at a very early age. I have always had a particular fondness for the High Peaks and Saranac Lake Chain region of the park.
Why they chose this property
When I came across this property in 2018 I know immediately it was the perfect house in the perfect location. I prefer to be a little removed from the nearby towns and far out into nature. This location part of the Loon Lake area is close enough to Lake Placid to still enjoy getting a nice massage or a 5-star meal but far enough removed that when you are at the cabin its just you, the loons and the black bear. There is no end to the exploration that can be done. The trout and pike fishing are world class, there is lots of hiking to be done that is far enough removed from the over crowded high peaks trails but still fantastic views and a couple fire towers in the area. To me, this is just the most perfect spot in all of the Adirondacks. Not too isolated and not too suburban.
