About this property
None Closer to the Water's Edge. One of a kind BOATHOUSE
If you want a fun and unique experience then come and stay in our one of a kind large converted boathouse resting in a quiet cove on private Rainbow Lake. Newly extensively renovated . You cannot get closer to the waters edge, your partially over the water. Over 300 feet of shoreline, 2+ acres of wooded and grassy grounds. Enjoy 25 miles of interconnecting waterways (Lake Kushaqua, Clear Pond, Buck Pond, and of course Rainbow Lake) bordering forever wild state lands. Wildlife sanctuary to eagles, loons, blue heron, osprey, beaver, otter and several species of ducks. Enjoy some of the best fishing in the Adirondacks (bass, northern pike, walleye to name a few). Many small coves and islands allow for very intimate kayak and canoe exploring. Swimming right of the docks and private beach, and a private float rests just off the shore. Breathtaking views of the lake and gorgeous sunsets from the wrap around deck/dock and point. Loads of sunshine! Views of the lake from just about every room in the house. Horseshoe Pits on property. At night gather around the Large fire pit with chairs right on the waters edge, cook dinner over an open wood flame or just reflect on the days events.. Excellent golf courses nearby. Easy drive to hiking, numerous trails, high peaks region, Olympic venues, shopping, visitors interpretive center, and fabulous local restaurants. 25 minute drive to Lake Placid, 15 minute drive to Saranac Lake. Jotul propane stove in living room, stone fireplace in living room. Sleeps 8 comfortably. Several different bed configurations. . Fully equipped and applianced kitchen. Screened in porch. Ample parking. All linens provided. Non-smokers only.
Come enjoy the lake in the springtime and experience the lake coming alive, the wildlife, the waterfowl, and the great fishing. Take advantage of the reduced rates. Some of the best fishing is in the springtime and early summer before the summer rush comes. This is a great fisherman's getaway. If you would like to bring your own boat let us know and we can arrange for you to use our private launch. (call for details and restrictions). No Wave runners or Jet skis. Come join us in the fall for the foliage, campfires and cool crisp nights.
Come enjoy a winter wonderland. There are numerous opportunities for cross country skiing right out your door step. If snowmobiling is your thing, we also have numerous trails and actually are only a couple hundred feet from a major snowmobiling trail. You can go downhill skiing at whiteface mountain or enjoy all the Olympic venues in Lake Placid. Don't forget ice fishing.
We do not accept reservations for more than two (2) weeks.
Only dogs accepted/no other pets permitted.

About the host
Hosted by John Prescott

Co-owners for 11 years. We lived in our sweet home for 4 years prior to a major renovation to the house itself. We took our home to a year-round rental in July, 2009 and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and learning about our yearly new and returning renters. Currently we reside year round in New Hampshire with the exception of the few weeks we enjoy at our house during the various seasons. It is our respite, our quiet, tranquil, relaxing get away from the hustle & bustle of suburban life. We love it here & we know you will too!
Why they chose this property
Quiet, peaceful private lake.
What makes this property unique
What we truly love about our home is the sunsets from our waterfront deck or walking out to our point on our 3.75 acres for conversation, a beverage, the breeze, and the sun set!
On a crisp morning, the steam arising off the lake is breath-taking.
No sunset or early morning sunrise is ever the same. The northern lights are incredible. A starry night lying on the deck to watch the shooting stars is a show in itself.
And lest we forget to mention the waterfowl, the baby ducklings in the spring, the beavers, the otters, and the incredible loons with their eerie calls. We've been fortunate enough to see a baby loon with his very protective parents; it was beautiful!!
