Pleasant Stay at Salty but Sweet Beach House!
Based on reviews, expected maybe some issues, but pleasantly surprised just how nice this little beach house was! Condition of home exactly as shown in listing photos or better! "NO small showers" as shown in photos & noted in prior remarks, as one bath has a full size tub with shower & the master bath has a new large walk-in shower (not the small one shown in photos! The extra half bath/laudry room was nice. The house was clean (no insects as in prior remarks) and check-in was simple & easy. Local housekeeping could improve by making the beds with fresh sheets prior to guest arrival instead of leaving it up to guest to make the beds & providing bed pillows that aren't unusable, but the property was great otherwise. The only inprovement suggested is a window shade or blinds for the kitchen window as it faces the street & you feel like you're in a fish bowl after the sun goes down. Highly recommend this property!

Weekend stay
The house and location was great. However equipment on the beach working all night was very disturbing. Also none of the TVs in the house would work so my elderly mother that wasn’t able to get out could not watch tv

It was okay
When we arrived, the floors were not clean, even though Oak Island Accommodations had spoken of their enhanced cleaning protocols, but there was so much sand and a dead cockroach in the corner of the room. The first night we were there, we saw another cockroach running across the floor. The king beds were fairly comfortable, but the bunk beds were very uncomfortable and the pillows were terrible and very lumpy. Would definitely advise bringing your own pillow. The showers were quite small and there were no lights inside the shower so it was very dark. Good access to the beach; however, the view is slightly obstructed by the large dunes in front of the house. Also, when we requested a later check out, which had been stated was available after Labor Day, we received a rude and very abrupt response stating they denied our request without any apologies. Upon further inquiry as to why they were unable to compromise or accommodate us, no one responded to our email. Overall, our stay could have been much better.

Oak Island Beach House
Location was awesome. Enjoyed sitting on deck with coffee/drinks watching ocean, pelicans, and spotting dolphins. They should pay more attention to little details about property. The 2 adirondack chairs on deck were cracked, we found some empty snack bags under couch, and some areas could use a little dusting. Also, price was a bit deceiving, as an owner fee was tacked on which brought the price up to almost $400 per night. Overall, the house was good. There were 5 of us, and we had plenty of room for us all to be comfortable.

Great spring break for our family of 5
We had a wonderful stay. Directly on the water and the house was set up perfectly for our family of 5 (+ another if need be!) We visited in early April so the water was cold but that didn’t stop our children from going in. Make sure you open the windows when you cook or dry your hair (I set the fire alarm off twice.) I couldn’t get either vacuum to work, so I had to sweep. And the message about staying off the dunes was not clear because when we got there our kids went directly over them and to the ocean. It was only later when we read the book that we saw the message to stay off. Thanks for the wonderful vacation!
