We stayed this weekend in the monsoon rain and we enjoyed just staying in and had everything we needed right in the caboose ! We ate breakfast every morning in the top bench seats and the view was amazing ! We also enjoyed the fire pit and view up top ‘-we can’t wait to get back ! Host reached out to assure Check in was smooth and we didn’t need anything !Great stay !

Everything with our experience was Excellent. We were able to check in early. Ken was so easy to communicate with always quick to respond. The caboose was really quite charming and very clean! Saluda is a nice little town. We truly enjoyed our nice little Fall Vacay, and look forward to booking the caboose again next fall.

Got this as a 60th anniversary gift for my parents. They LOVED it very much. My dad loves trains so they really enjoy the ambiance. Quiet, simple getaway in a beautiful area.

The Escape VRBO is a perfect place to go, when you and your significant others need a space and place to unwind. The Caboose is so appealing and the wooden booth offers a fantastic space to talk, write, eat, you name it day or night. I highly recommend the Escape VRBO in Saluda, the next time you need a midpoint to relax and recharge and all the extra stuff is 30 minutes away in every direction.

The Caboose is a charming place to stay in historic downtown Saluda. It has been well restored inside and is very comfortable with a large bedroom, a large walk-in closet with plenty of room to put your stuff away. There are two porch areas to sit when the weather is warm and pleasant. We did not cook in the Caboose but it appears to have what you need if you plan to do that. One of the benefits for us was being able to walk to dinner each evening. It was a really unique place to stay -- but not quirky in a bad way -- just a good way! The code for the door was easy to use and the host was quick to respond to my questions.

We loved our stay and plan to re visit again!!! Our kids were so surprised when they found out we were actually staying in a caboose.. my son loves trains. So close to everything we wanted to do!!! Ken was great with communicating with me and answering my questions as I had them... A much needed relaxing getaway south a great view!!!!

We had a lovely stay at the Caboose this weekend. It was exactly as described and very comfortable. On Friday evenings I recommend visiting Salud Sip and Strum right down the street. They have a drop in jam session. You can get beer and wine and can bring in your own food. I highly recommend the pizza from Wildflower Bake Shop next door. We enjoyed the rooftop deck at the Caboose and we were able to listen to a concert in the nearby park. Saluda has a cute downtown, but is close to other larger towns. It was a nice getaway.

We’ve stayed at the Escape for five years in a row and already have it booked for next year. It’s our favorite vacation spot and it’s the best location for Saluda. The owners are so attentive to details and communication is a dream!!

Absolutely wonderful. Host was great and communicated thoroughly. The place was clean and exactly as described. A great place for a weekend escape within walking distance of everything in downtown Saluda.

The A/C doesn’t seem to work as well in the caboose as it does in the rest of the place. The door between only stays open when you prop it with something (we used a shoe). Water pressure was great! Very nice bathroom and bedroom. Kids loved the crow’s nest. Overall, we had a great weekend! Thank you

We spent four amazing nights at The Escspe! It’s such a cool place and perfect for my family, with a kitchen, full bathroom, and washer/dryer. We enjoyed evenings on the rooftop deck. Saluda is such a cute town. We are already planning to come back!

This property was fantastic . How could you not love staying in a 1800s caboose . The property was very clean and love location to town . We loved the upper level that overlooked the town with firepit and gas grill. We used the washer and dryer which were brand new. We did some hiking , exploring , wineries etc and still didn't a lot of time at this property . I would definitely recommend booking this property . We would definitely stay here again .
