Beautiful house and location

Our family had a wonderful stay Scouts Forest. The house was great, and had everything we needed for making meals at the house. With 4 teenagers staying with us we prepared lots of big meals. The kitchen had all we needed and the grill was perfect. Beds and baths were excellent as well. I cant say enough about how nice the back yard and patio were. We had deer and turkey visit almost daily. We can't wait to return sometime!

Excellent Well Appointed Get Away House

This house turned out to be the perfect house for our family of four (all adults) vacation. The house's is rustic theme throughout added to the get away from it all experience. The furniture is plentiful and very comfortable. The upstairs bedrooms are also well appointed and the beds are super comfortable which makes for a great night sleep after some strenuous hiking in Glacier National Park. The house has a terrific backyard with plenty of chairs and tables, a horse shoe pit and first class grill. The location is very convenient to the restaurants and shops of downtown Whitefish. Jennifer was there when we arrived to make sure everything was in order. The house was ready at check in time and was very clean. I highly recommend this property to all travelling to the Whitefish/Glacier National Park area of Montana.

Wonderful, relaxing retreat!

Scouts Forest is one of those places that feels like home instantly! The whole process of booking, expectations, check-in, and check-out was easy and seamless. Steve and Jen did all the things that make for a warm welcome. The property was absolutely beautiful! While tucked away off the beaten path (exactly what we wanted), it was still convenient and easy to get to, even after flight delays put us getting there well after 1 A.M. The directions provided were super clear and concise. Anything you could need was provided for. This property displayed all of the comforts of home. Beds and linens were comfy and top quality, and I had the best sleep with the windows open for letting in the cool night air. Should we find ourselves back in this part of the country-hopefully soon-I will not hesitate to book Scouts Forest again. Thank you Steve and Jen for a memorable first experience in Big Sky Montana!

Peaceful Retreat

Our family got to stay just two short nights at this home. The home was well equipped for all our needs! The beds were extremely comfortable. The property was quiet and peaceful! The owners were very prompt in getting back to us when we had inquiries. I really don’t think there is anything negative I can say. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home!!!

Beautiful, secluded and comfortable

This is one of the best properties we have ever stayed in. The location is beautiful, quiet and secluded yet very close to all that Whitefish has to offer and just a short drive to Glacier National Park. The home is clean and extremely comfortable. We will be back!

Great Get away Home

Scouts Forest is a great place to stay for a family. Close to restaurants and all activities related to Glacier Park. Perfect for families that don’t want to run everyday and wants to BBQ outside and relax on patio while enjoying the waterfall. We saw a lot of deer with babies. We love Montana and this was perfect for a relaxing vacation.

Scouts Forest

This was a great house to stay in for a relaxing vacation. It was clean, pleasantly decorated, nice linens, beds comfortable and had all the amenities you would want. The kitchen was great for preparing our meals and then being able to eat outside in the peaceful environment with the waterfall and watching the wildlife. It doesn't take more than 10 min. to get into Whitefish. Jen was great to get back with us quickly for any concerns during the stay. They thought of everything that might be needed for our stay. We would highly recommend Scouts Forest.

Gorgeous and Comfortable Getaway

Jennifer and Steve's home is even more beautiful than the VRBO photos show. The house is very tastefully decorated, sheets, blankets and towels all of high quality, the kitchen is well-stocked with cookware and most cooking utensils. and the outdoor gas grill is great. The garden patio has several great seating areas and would be a great place to host a party of up to 10-15 people. The drive into Whitefish takes about 10-15 minutes, but one never tires of the scenery along the way. Jennifer was great about answering all our questions very promptly. We would gladly return to this home!

Great house, great stay

The house is beautiful and so well maintained. Really top-notch. Everything in it from the amenities in the kitchen, the artwork on the walls, to the towels in the bathrooms has obviously been chosen with care and good style. The yard and patio area are just as beautiful and a real treat to spend time relaxing on. I highly recommend this house and would definitely stay there again!

Hard to say with words how amazing this home is. Exactly as described and more! Highly recommended.

Our family absolutely loved staying here and looks forward to when we can go back! We saved the address in our GPS as "Montana Home Base" and it truly felt like home. Jen and Steve's attention to detail was amazing. They truly went above and beyond. In all of our travels, this is without a doubt, the finest (and our new favorite) place of lodging. The home is beautiful on the inside and outside as well. We literally felt like we were staying at a place that you see in magazines or on HGTV. It really was that nice. It was so enchanting to go to sleep and night and wake up in the morning hearing the calm and soothing sound of the splendid waterfall in the backyard. We like to cook some of our meals when we vacation and my wife was blown away with how well stocked the kitchen was. Obviously, we bought our own food, but every kitchen utensil that we needed was available. We loved the fact that the house is in a secluded and quite area yet very conveniently located near Glacier International Airport, Glacier National Park, and all the other wonderful things to do in the area. We saw a beautiful doe in the backyard and one evening while driving back to our "home away from home" we saw a bald eagle flying proudly overhead. There is a plaque in the kitchen that says, "This is our happy place" and I couldn't agree more. The photos and descriptions are honest and spot-on. Book with confidence and you will not be disappointed!

Excellent Holiday!

Our week at Scouts Forest was unbelievable - the house is so nice. Excellent furniture, comfortable beds, plenty of room, well stocked, I could go on and on. We had LOTS of snow but no problems getting around and in and out. The Christmas lights and decorations were a MUCH appreciated touch. I would highly recommend this house to anyone. A perfect stay - thank you!!

Best VRBO Rental!

Wow, we have rented many homes over the years in many other areas of the country, but this was the best. Due to our parents downsizing, we needed to rent our own space in the Whitefish area. We loved the location and house! Steve and Jen are not only delightful to work with, but provide many nice amenities. Furnishings are lovely and there is just enough of everything! We just cannot say enough good things about our experience at Scouts Forest.

Wonderful place inside and out!

We all loved your place the minute we drove up and even more so when we walked in. Everything was just wonderful, beds were comfortable and spacious and all the décor was nice. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen and especially cooking and eating outside on your new patio area with that awesome waterfall that put us sleep every night. lets not forget seeing turkey deer and horses almost every day. Thank you so much for a great stay at a great place!

I am going to start by saying we loved this place. It is so peaceful and quiet. The house is beautiful and very well maintained. You literally have everything you need in the kitchen that you would have in your own. They built this very cool waterfall outside so when you BBQ it was very tranquil. GREAT added features. We had a little 2 year old and it was an outside adventure everyday seeing the wild life. They have 6 to 7 turkeys that come down the mountain almost every night. And deer were everywhere. Very cool! I only have a couple of concerns. One please be aware that it is not child prof so the best thing to do is buy a cheap child gate and put on the stairs as it will be a life saver. Especially if you have little toddlers Crawling or starting to walk. It's not a big deal but they don't have cable only Netflix movies. So if you have any major sporting event or want to just listen to the news. But they do have very good wifi and you can stream like we did to see everything you need. Also only a suggestion but blinds on the down stairs big window so that the neighbors can't look in every time they drive up and can block the lights from the cars after dark would be nice but again not a big deal. That all being said...Jen and Steve are some of the nicest most helpful and accommodating renters I have ever come in contact with...they go out of their way to help you from directions to places to visit to anything that might go wrong at the house and they are pretty quick to get back to you. There home is awesome and we would recommend this to anyone that is looking to detach from their busy lives and be out in nature. Plus you are close to 2 awesome lakes. Lots to do. Thank you Steve and Jen for a lovely most unexpected place to stay. You guys are awesome!!!

Favorite part of our long vacation!

We loved staying at the this property. Immediately upon arrival, we felt at home. It was so nice to have a place for family dinners where I could practice my favorite hobby of cooking and have my kids around the table and just talk. After days of staying in cramped hotels, the house was a welcome respite. Steve and Jennifer went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and they were incredibly hospitable. We had magazines, maps of the area, and lots of other material to help us plan our days. The sound of the waterfall, getting to see wandering deer, and the secluded setting was relaxing and calming. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and encourage anyone visiting whitefish to consider this home. Oh, and we can't forget, the highlight was waking up one morning and finding 7 wild turkeys drinking out of the waterfall.

5 Stars - Inside and Out!

This place was the absolute perfect house for our family trip up to Montana! We were greeted by Steve and Jennifer upon our arrival. They showed us the property with smiles. The house was clean and inviting when we arrived. There was plenty of room for two families to cook, play games, and relax without feeling like we were in tight quarters. We were amazed when we walked out of the backdoor. Our kids spent most of their time climbing the hills, playing baseball, and going on nature adventures. They LOVED it!! We were able to sit outside and watch them play as there are 3 seating areas to pick from. We even made s'mores one night! We will definitely stay here again when we visit Montana!
