Clay was a great host, very accommodative and very supportive for our full week stay! The slope side access was great for our family to ski on and off with kids. Great stay and would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a great inter generational space to stay in Whitefish.
House was perfect for 13 people ages 5-62. We had plenty of room and didn't feel cramped. House was stocked with everything we needed: kitchen supplies, laundry supplies, puzzles, children's toys, board games. House was ideally located near Chair Lift 3 so we could hop right on the slopes. Host gave us a quick tour of the property upon check in and was very accessible via text and responded in a timely fashion to our questions.
Right off the base of lift 3, easily accommodated 3 families, kids loved the hot tub and the quick access to the slopes (steps from the back door), property management was prompt to reply to all communication, would definitely stay here again.
Everone in our extended family group enjoyed our stay. Beds were comfortable and the Whitefish resort activities were really great and so convenient. Glacier NP is very close by, which we also enjoyed immensely.
Such a great place to take your whole family. The condo was very clean and enough private space for 3 different family's in one place. We all enjoyed ourselves. Great parking and location on the Mountain with easy ski in and ski out. The perfect ski vacation.
Our family of 16 (8 adults, 8 kids) enjoyed a wonderful vacation. House was beautiful and impressively stocked with everything we needed in the kitchen. Inside was a comfortable space for us all and kids enjoyed countless hours on the property outside. Can not beat the location.
This place is perfect. You can't go wrong. Very clean, charming, lots of character. You cannot beat this location. You can easily walk 1 minute to chair 3, then ski right back into the property or just walk from bottom of chair 3. It's also right by bierstube and the village area there. Plenty of parking as well.
Property was clean & well supplied with towels, including extras for the hot tub. Ample hand soap, paper towels, and toilet paper provided. Kitchen is well-equipped for a large group. Lots of room for ski gear. Property manager was welcoming & responsive to questions. Would stay again,
This property was amazing. The host was friendly and very thorough. The space easily accommodated our party of 11 adults for a family reunion. The Fishlake/Glacier National Park area is fantastic and we plan on returning soon. We highly recommend staying here.

We had a wonderful time at this slopeside retreat. Our kids enjoyed playing out back in the snow. The rental offered convenient access to Chair 3. It comfortably accommodated three families. Very clean, with everything we needed. We hope to be back one day soon!
Everything was great. Location next to lift. Lots of rooms and space in house. Very well equipped kitchen. Great floor plan. Overall it’s the best place we have stayed for ski in ski out units highly recommended
Such a great house and location! Stayed there for the summer and rebooking for the winter ski season. You cannot beat the location. Kitchen so well stocked, and the property owners were fabulous. So incredibly relaxing to sit in the private hot tub and take in the mountain beauty… so so close to the lift! I can’t wait to experience this magical place this winter! This is a gem of a rental- do yourself and family a favor and book your memories now!
We met our grown children, their spouses and our grandchildren for the week. The set-up of the home worked perfectly to accommodate the needs of the young parents and children. The summer ski slopes were perfect for mountain bike riding and hiking.
Wonderful property steps away from chair 3 on Whitefish Mountain. A true ski in/ski out. The host was fantastic and answered promptly whenever we had issues with the outside lights. Well stocked kitchen and game closet. Our group of three families with kids ages 8-14 enjoyed the property. Hot tub was great after a day of skiing. Quick walk to the village with a few shops and restaurants. Highly recommend. Would love to visit again!
The house was great! As advertised - about 80 yards (or less) from the #3 chair lift. One of the easier properties to ski in/out (many claim to be ski in/out but are not really) that our group has ever stayed. The kitchen was well stocked with all the needed pots/pans, crock-pot, etc. It was also well stocked with misc seasonings and cabinet-spices you might use - obviously this stock will change based on what people have used and/or left behind. Our group consisted of six, 50-something, guys on a long weekend ski vacation. More than enough rooms and beds to accommodate us with room to spread out.We would definitely stay here again.
The place was great for our group of 12. Everyone had a bed and with the 3 couches there was plenty of space to sit and relax. The outdoor deck and hot tub was great for relaxing. The only issue I had with the listing accuracy was the AC. It was 90+ degrees outside and the AC are the portable units that are freestanding in the two upstairs bedrooms only. The other two floors did not have any AC and were very hot. The windows also didn’t open well so it was a challenge getting fresh air in.

Disliked: Location
Fits a lot of people, but not a great option in the Summer
I'm sure this place is great in the winter since it's close to the ski lifts, but it was a bit lacking in the summer. There's no central AC and when we visited it was over 90 degrees, which made it quite uncomfortable. And the two window AC units were loud and barely cooled the two rooms they were in. However, the hot tub was nice.
The listing also mentions that it's "walking distance to the mountain market, bars and restaurants" which were all closed for the summer except for the small market. This means you have to drive everywhere during the summer.
The inside is also quite a bit dated, which was unfortunate given how much we paid per night + the very large cleaning fee.
Perhaps we just got unlucky with the heat during the summer, but the overall experience didn't come close to matching the price we paid.

About the host
Hosted by Doug Wold
We are a 5th-generation Montana family who has been in hospitality since 1910. We love to share the beauty and grandeur that is Montana. We played host to all sorts of events over the decades. In recent years, most of our guests have found our Whitefish Mountain Retreat the perfect place for their family gatherings.
Why they chose this property
We built this home as a family retreat 20 years ago for our children and grandchildren to enjoy. We love that it is one of the few true ski-in/ski-out homes on the hill. In fact, no other vacation home sits high or as close to any chair on the mountain that sleeps 16. Now that our children and grandchildren have grown we want to share it with other families and friends so that they can make their own memories with those they love.
What makes this property unique
We love that our retreat is one of the few true ski-in/ski-out homes on the hill. In fact, no other vacation home sits as high or as close to any chair on the mountain that sleeps 16 with a private hot tub and deck. The hot tub and the deck are perfect places to start and end the day watching the sunrise over Big Mountain or set in the west painting the mountain a collage of color.
