Ultimate Family Getaway | Hot Tub, Pond, Trails & Games 4BR, 3.5BA
The Oaks Come and enjoy the nature, adventure, beauty and comfort of The Oaks! The history of The Oaks goes back to the mid 30’s when the core of the current cabin was built as a summer home from property timber and stone. Over the next several decades a beautiful cedar three level structure was added over the original cabin, and three decks were added to give it its unique charm today. From the rooftop deck hear the birds call, the oaks rustle or just relax and soak in the sun. Let the kids play on the play set while you enjoy the hammock. If you’re more energetic, or more likely, if they are, ? explore the 2 marked trails that wind around the grounds. Don’t forget to swing on the tree swing down the hill, or the 2 person swing overlooking the pond. Or maybe it’s a game of basketball with the teenagers. Most folks, small and large, enjoy fishing the pond with stocked 2 lb. catfish as well as smaller bass and bluegill. Oh, can’t forget a soak in the hot tub in the early morning or late night!
Step into the first level and be greeted with a warm and comfortable family room with an entire wall made of stone from the property. The built in gas fireplace provides the warmth and cheer to groups relaxing on the couches and the 46” HD TV with Blu-Ray & satellite can be viewed from both this room and the kitchen.
The breakfast bar and the glass dinning gazebo provide ample seating for 10. The kitchen is very generously stocked with all the necessary appliances and then some! Enjoy breakfast outdoors on the patio. There is a unique half bath and laundry room on this level as well. Check out the Living/Game Room on the next level. The unique Geode Gas Fireplace warms and cheers the activities that include pool, Wii games, cards at the bar height table. Maybe enjoy one of the 100+ books curled up on the window seat. In the surrounding Window Room there is basketball and foosball to challenge you. A large deck is off the window room that is a couple steps from the hot tub and play set. The Red Bedroom is on this level with its red bath, queen bed and flat screen with satellite. The Log Bedroom with several walls of the original logs, also boasts a private bath and queen bed. Both of these bedrooms have access to a small deck for viewing the morning bird and animal activity.
On the top level of The Oaks you will find two spacious bedrooms. The Master bedroom has a king bed, 55 inch TV, a VCR/DVD player, and a comfortable leather chair. There is a large walk in closet where kids love to set up camps! The Blue Bedroom has a queen bed, sitting area and again a large walk in closet. These bedroom share the very large bath complete with a Jacuzzi tub, a wall of mirrors and marble tile. Both of these bedrooms have access to the roof top deck that offers amazing views of the property.
The Oaks charms and surprises at every turn. So come visit with your friends or family, and experience a unique cabin and create priceless memories!

When we arrived, the house had a musty smell but other than that, we enjoyed our stay at the Oaks. Lots of fun stuff on the property to enjoy including a scavenger hunt. The house had everything we needed to enjoy our weekend!

45 minutes of additional check-in and check-out because this place is so far away and because it’s apparently still 1905, they are using hard keys versus sending you a digital code like every other short-term rental in this country. Not close to Bloomington because of added time to go out of the way to get the hard key.
My family absolutely loved our stay at The Oaks. We spent most of our time outside watching each other play basketball & fishing. The cabin is only minutes away from shopping, eating & hiking. Thursday we spent a quite evening at the cabin after our long drive. Friday we drove into Nashville for some shopping & then had BBQ at Sugar Creek. Saturday we went to Indiana State Park for some hiking & then to The Hard Truth for a wonderful dinner.
This is our 2nd cabin with you & we will visit again soon!

We are so glad you and your family had such a great time at this wonderful cabin.
We look forward to you booking with us for your next visit.
We celebrated my daughters 18th birthday by allowing her to invite her friends along. This was such an amazing property and we couldn’t have asked for more . The kids hiked, we grilled, hung out in hammocks, hung out in the hot tub, sang around the campfire , and played pool and board games. We took the short drive to Nashville and shopped as well as had a shot at zip lining .
The house had plenty of space for everyone and we were able to allow boys to come as they could all stay on the top floor and girls on the second. We were able to cook most of our meals and had everything on hand to make it easy. Mornings were beautiful to sit in front of the pond and listen to the birds and even caught a half dozen deer in the woods on the other side of the water.
Love love love this cabin and would love to come back for a full adult trip for myself or bring a couple of couples with the smaller kids . Just such a peaceful and beautiful property.

We had a fantastic time in this cabin. It is in a beautiful spot about 15 min from Nashville. Our kids really enjoyed the pool table and hiking. The kitchen was well equipped and the hot tub was really nice. I loved how the bedrooms were spaced all over the house for privacy.
