Built ca. 1910, this house is one of the oldest homes in the community. It has been carefully renovated with an eye to retaining its original character and warmth while making it functional with some more contemporary features.
The kitchen has a fridge, stove, oven, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, drip coffee maker, and a toaster. There is also a smart speaker to answer your questions, update you with the news and weather, or serenade you with music.
The living room and the first bedroom (that can be converted into a den) both have televisions. The living room TV is connected to Roku from which you can access Netflix, Spotify, among other Roku channels, although there is no live TV.
The washroom (toilet, sink, and shower) is on the ground floor by the back porch. There are two rooms upstairs: a bedroom with a double bed and a bedroom/den with a queen size futon that sleeps two.
The large back deck overlooks Clarke's Mountain and is accented with a gazebo. In the deck box you will find folding chairs and a propane barbecue. There is also a fire pit on the side garden.
If you walk to the left on railbed at the back of the property, it will take you to Clarke's Beach Information Centre (museum) in the old station. A little farther down there is a children's playground and paddling beach at the community park.
This is perfect for a place to relax, or a use as a base camp for day trips from which to explore a beautiful and historic part of our province.
