About Marwan Abboud
My wife and I purchased this North Georgia property in 2004. My wife has since passed away but she adored it and we spent a lot of time up there with my two kids. It is a great hide out and a jewel of a place to just relax, walk down the country lane, or go out on a hike on the many mountain trails. In renting out the cabin, we are sharing her legacy with others at a modest price.

Enjoyable, no hassles, very clean, very nice area 45 min drive to franklin NC for gem mining, beautiful creek across the street with easy access, friendly dog named Cody that visits. Hot water doesn’t last long enough but great water pressure, all outdoor furnishings need replaced as well as grill wood stoves and beds aren’t very good. But loved cabin and price was very reasonable.
Weekend family getaway
This cabin was perfect for our weekend getaway to enjoy hiking to nearby waterfalls. Google maps takes you to home past the cabin so you have to look for address sign on left which is easy to miss. The cabin was very clean but rustic which is how it is advertised. It is surrounded by trees and nature so we did encounter a couple of spiders which is to be expected in this type setting. The hike to the waterfall down the road was amazing and we were joined by the neighbors dog Cody who led the way and made the trip even more enjoyable for our family. You do have to cross the creek which was knee deep for us to get to the waterfall but it's worth it and exactly what we came for. We didn't do any cooking but the cabin was well stocked and Marwan responded quickly to any questions or concerns. If you are looking for a peaceful cabin to enjoy God's creation this is a great place to stay.
Sweet place close to town and fishing yet feels far away! Very comfortable. Loved the porches. We’ll be back one day!
Quaint cabin in a cute neighborhood
Lovely stay at the cabin. It’s def a rustic cabin that shows its age but I think it’s kind of part of the charm. We enjoyed our stay. The hammock on the patio was a great touch. So nice to just hang out in our and listen to the creek. The internet connection is very slow, def take advantage of the dvd collection. We tried to connect to Netflix but the lag was really bad. The waterfall near the cabin is awesome! There is a lovely dog named Cody in the neighborhood that , if you’re lucky, will take you straight to the waterfall. Awesome guide!
Great spot, great house, great host
Everything at Marwan's cabin was as advertised, clean, and in good condition. We had four adults, two kids, and a dog and it was perfect for us. The waterfall hike is a must and the easy drive to Clayton is convenient.
