Wonderful cottage for making memories! Relaxing 2 bedroom recently renovated lakefront cottage with great views of the lake just feet away. A full frontal deck and a nice 60 foot dock reaches out to beautiful Matteson Lake, just 9 miles west of Coldwater, MI. Matteson is a 300 acre all sports lake that provides great swimming, boating and fishing. Cottage provides all the items needed to have a relaxing peaceful week. 2 kayaks are provided for renters and Cottage is Ideal for a couple or small family to enjoy. Swimming in front of cottage is good for all ages as Lake is shallow and waist high at end of dock.

While you will want to spend your time outdoors, when you do come inside, you have a comfortable place to relax.
The Cottage has a spacious open floor plan with raised ceilings in family room. Family room has a futon and 2 chairs. A fully stock kitchen, gas stove, microwave and outdoor grill.
Bed linens and bath towels provided. Dining area overlooks the lake and great for playing table games. Wireless wifi, newer Smart TV provided for guest.

Relax on the lakefront deck with chairs, table, umbrella and picnic table in Front yard. Fish off the dock, read, enjoy the incredible views, and relax at the lake. Sunsets are spectacular!
Back deck has chairs, grill and shade in afternoon and a garage to place all your water toys. Property has parking for 2 cars. Weekly rental is Sunday 4:00pm to Sunday 11:00 am. Daily rental minimum of 3 nights. No pets. No smoking.

In the nearby town of Coldwater, you will find Amish bakeries, eateries, wineries and a farmers market along with major stores Walmart and Meijer for all your supplies. For a fun evening outing enjoy the Capri drive-in Theater, a main attraction in Coldwater. Bronson and Colin Mi. has ATM/bank, small grocery stores, restaurants, Pizza and everything a small towns has to offer.

What a gem. The house and property were very clean. A treat getting to park in the garage. Our original booking got canceled and we found this place. We are so glad we did. There were plenty of towels and supplies. The beds were so comfortable. The suset views breathtaking. Our grandson enjoyed fishing off the dock. Recommend you bring your own water as the water doesnt taste so great.

A Perfect Getaway

Stay with the grand kids

updated, modern 2 bedroom, one bath cottage was perfect for my M-F stay with my daughter and my 2 grandchildren. while the late June Michigan weather wasn't perfect, we were able to enjoy the outdoors for much of our stay. Very friendly neighbors and with the owner just four houses away, we were never far from getting an answer to any question we had.

The old folks loved it!

Tom and his wife had the place spotless with pretty much everything you might need in stock. Something you don't always get while renting is comfortable beds and pillows, but both were here. I texted a question that had little to do with the cottage and received an answer with-in minutes. Another bonus is the midsize town of Coldwater and the small cities of Bronson and Colon nearby. Interesting shops and eats. The ONLY thing you'd want to be sure to bring is your own drinking water. Then again virtually any place you stay you'd want to bring your own water. We could see renting the "Perfect Sunset" again. *In case you didn't totally believe the site's picture you can see the one I took.

The cottage was just as described, clean and thoughtfully stocked. Plenty of windows and no surprises. The lake is very peaceful and neighbors are friendly and considerate. A great place to kick back and relax if only I could have found some of those darn fish.

Summer Cottage

House was everything we hope it would be for a lake house. No issues. Sunsets were spectacular. Quiet area, friendly neighbors. Lake was great for fishing, tubing, kayaking, all sports. Close public boat ramp with lots of room for turning around and parking. Nice deck and dock at the water. We would definitely book again.

The renter was not up front on a pit bull Dog that was aggressive to other neighbors dogs . We have a no pet policy but made a 2 day exception that was not a good fit for property

Highly recommend!

We recently returned from staying at this clean and adorable cottage. We travel all over Michigan and always utilize VRBO and this cottage is right up at the top for cleanliness. Everything was perfect including the warm and sunny weather and warm water. We loved that the water is shallow and what felt like halfway across the lake. We loved having the kayaks to use as we enjoyed daily trips to explore and it was quiet and calm and beautiful. Shelly, who lives next door, was sweet and easy to talk to and offered to let us use her clothesline and garbage bin. I loved sitting on the back patio to watch the hummingbirds fight over her feeder. It was so relaxing and calm. Tom met us in person when we arrived and was so pleasant and easy to chat with. Oh, and the ducks who came 3 times a day to eat were the icing on the cake for me. They ate right from our hands the last 2 days we were there. I looked forward to that every day, and, in fact, our grandson said they would fit in our suitcase and wanted to take them home with us. I wish I could have! The only slightly negative thing I can say is that the water was a bit mucky and murky and debris constantly washed up to shore but it didn't stop us from swimming daily. If you go out away from the shore, the water was much better. I will definitely put this cottage at the top of my list to return to.

House Very Clean and Updated

Overall the place is very clean and up-to-date. Some places I have rented from have spiders webs and dust bunnies. This place had none of that! Pros - Clean, everything was very comfortable, AC Units were able to keep up on a very HOT week in July. Beds were comfy, not worn out and not too hard or too soft. The dock was long enough for our boat and the lake is not that busy, even on a Sunday afternoon. Fishing was slow but that's to be expected in July. Outside the unit had enough room to set up chairs in the yard and you could play a game of something. There is a detached garage that is very helpful to store things. The 2 kayaks are great to explore the lake. There are 2 ducks that love to come to shore and rest for a bit. You are only 10 mins from Coldwater. We took our bikes and rode them around the lake the best we could. There is also a country road nearby that you can ride on and is not very busy (Babcock Road) but I would not recommend young kids riding on it as it is a bit hilly. Cons - The shower could use more water and pressure. The wind tends to blow towards the shoreline which causes lily pads and anything else to come up to the shore (not the owners fault). The swimming area is okay. Its rocky for a bit and then after the rocks are gone you sink in the ground maybe an inch or two, not terrible by any means. For being a Michigan lake I felt like it was a bit too brown. You can see maybe 12-15 inches down before its too cloudy. Overall, I would not hesitate to rent this place again.

The owner Tom is a nice guy and lives nearby to make sure you have everything you need. The cottage delivers on everything that is advertised. It’s a good location (especially for attending “Magic week” in Colon) and the kayaks were a nice bonus we enjoyed, as well as a little fishing.

Tranquil

It was so cozy inside I hardly went outside. My adult children loved the lake, and enjoyed kayaking. The sunsets are exactly as you see the one on this vrbo advertisement. The cottage was equipped with everything and then some. Plenty of room to stretch out and enjoy everything this rental has to offer.
