This unusual detached cottage in Swythamley sleeps eight people in four bedrooms and was featured on the TV show ‘Homes Under The Hammer'.
A four bedroom detached cottage in the hamlet of Swythamley in the Peak District, this property is full of character and charm, and featured on the popular UK TV show âHomes Under The Hammer'. Dating from 1904, the house has a sitting room with open fire, leaded windows, tiled floors, a sun room and a large garden with lovely views of the Staffordshire countryside. The cottage has been expertly renovated, and offers families, friends or couples a chance to relax in style and enjoy this wonderful part of the country. Note: Bookings must start and end on a Monday or Friday. Note: The owners require a refundable Good Housekeeping bond of £100 to be sent to them by cheque.

Electric cooker & hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, Wi-Fi, LCD TV with Freeview, radio/CD player, small library of books/games. Local Swythamley Hall, originally a hunting lodge belonging to Abbey of Dieulacres, stands in fine parkland. The area has much historic significance – close by is Gun Hill, where Cromwell is believed to have located his canon aimed at the town of Leek. On the edge above Swythamley there is a famous landmark - the Hanging Stone, with a fine view over the surrounding countryside. There is fine walking and climbing on The Roaches, and many lovely cycle trails in the area. Alton Towers, Leek, Buxton and Ashbourne are all within easy reach.
