About this property
The Old Farmhouse (family friendly house by the woods) easy access, near 45
The Old Farmhouse on the Little Lapp Farm is a family-friendly house with spacious kitchen/dining and living room areas! It's not a 5-star resort by any means, but an old, nostalgic farmhouse with enough renovations to make it a comfy place to stay.
3 bedrooms (1 king, 1 queen, 1 full) and 2 full bathrooms. There's a crib in the master bedroom and we can have air mattresses available if needed.
Self check-in with the keypad allows contactless arrival and departure. Outdoor cameras for your security.
Please note: we do not permit smoking at the Farmhouse (anytime or anywhere!) We do sincerely love everybody, but due to severe reactions to cigarette smoke we can only allow non-smoking groups to stay at the Farmhouse. If ANYONE in your group smokes, please find a different place to stay. Thanks in advance for understanding!
While you're here, you'll have opportunity to enjoy some of the Little Lapp Farm products: pure honey from the bees, and goat milk soap... hand-made from raw ingredients!
Enjoy a step back from the frantic pace of life with a walk in the woods or a peaceful evening by the pond. Or spend the evening in the backyard around the campfire and watching the stars.
We have a washer and dryer available for use. You supply detergent, etc.
Unplug, unwind, and relax! There is no telephone or television, but for the truly desperate, there is WiFi available.😊
We have a few "out of the ordinary" rules: (No smoking or drinking on premises, no pets, and no extra visitors) We love having a family-friendly place, but do not allow events, parties, gatherings, etc. Please be respectful and keep these rules. If you have any questions, we would appreciate it if you contact us before booking. Thanks!
For the more adventurous, you may want to go over and join the Lapp family as we feed the animals, or you may even have opportunity to help check on the bees.
Our family of eight lives just down the road (or through the woods) and hope that we'll get to spend some time with you while you're here. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask, we love to interact with our guests!

Close enough to town for groceries, banking and a few good restaurants. Far enough in the country to enjoy quiet walks and a wonderful feeling of safety.

It was such a pleasure hosting you Gary, we're glad you enjoyed your stay!
Nice and homey! We enjoyed the space to spread out and the walk to the pond to stretch our legs!
Owners were quick to respond and very hospitable. Marvin brought some food for the kids to feed the ducks on the pond which they loved. There is plenty of room to spread out and enjoy each other's company. Great place!
Very nice accomodations and even better host. Host truly want you to have a good time and enjoy your stay. Pretty much everything you need they have at the house. Host responds quickly to any questions or request you might have.

It was a pleasure meeting and hosting these 5 men! They were very respectful of our place and left it clean. We welcome them back anytime!
The Lapp family went above and beyond to make this home fully equipped for an incredibly comfortable stay. Spacious, well appointed, well stocked, everything you could ask for. The kids loved it. Honestly, we didn’t really want to leave! I would give this ten stars if I could. Best Vrbo home we have ever stayed in. Thank you!!
The Lapp family is very hospitable. They took great care of us. The house is roomy and very homey. We felt at home.
We stayed the weekend while attending an MSU football game. Quick, easy drive to Starkville. We plan on staying here again when we return next football season.
Lovely large country farmhouse that exceeded expectations.
Everything was awesome about our stay. The indoor swing, farm gifts, and farmhouse kitchen and dining room were especially grand. We were only there for a 1 night stopover but wished we could have stayed longer. Outdoor swingset and pond were unexpected bonuses. It had a country home feel which we hope will bring us back on a future trip.
We loved our stay at the farmhouse. My family was able to disconnect from screens and enjoy each others company. My kids had a blast swimming in the pond and being outside. There is nothing more that we could have asked for, every need was taken care of.
The house was as listed. It has all you need for kitchen items, the beds were comfortable as well. They have a pond in the back that you are welcome to kayak in. On our stay the owners left some feed for us to give to the ducks by the pond as well. Owners were great and had great communication.
We were passing through from the gulf to the midwest. This is a great house with plenty of room. The kids loved the foosball table and we slept well in the comfy beds. Great kitchen and dining table for making and eating meals. The Lapps were very good with communications and even welcomed us over to their house up the road to see some bunnies and puppies.

It was a pleasure to host/meet your family, so glad you enjoyed your stay!
The Lapp family farmhouse was the perfect rental for our family. Although we were only there for 2 nights, I think it would be great for more lengthy stays as well. Our children are all adults, but the home had a baby bed, high chairs, and a children’s play corner stocked with toys for families with younger children. Our family enjoyed hanging out in living room which had PLENTY of seating for large families/groups. There is even a swing in the living room. How fun! The house was such a nice place to stay and we would certainly stay there again.

Glad y'all enjoyed your stay, we hope you will come again!
House was fully stocked. Very very clean. Beds are OMG comfortable! All the conveniences and comforts of home including extra blankets. Will definitely stay again, if ever back through MS. May just set a MS weekend get away up. Loved it; cant say enough good things. Thank you Jen and Marvin!!
The only negative thing was google maps tried to have us turn into the neighboring drive but no negatives towards house or stay.
Staying at the Old Farmhouse in Macon, MS, was a truly special experience. Not everyone has the opportunity to revisit their childhood home, so being able to share this with my children—having them sleep in the same room I did as a kid—was incredibly meaningful. The property itself offers a peaceful retreat with wonderful outdoor amenities. We took full advantage of the pond, using the kayaks daily and enjoying the fishing gear provided. The tranquil setting made for a perfect getaway to relax and reconnect as a family. While the home provided all the essentials—a comfortable place to stay, a warm shower, and a sturdy roof—the cleanliness could have been improved. However, the hosts were exceptionally responsive, communicative, and eager to address any concerns. Their kindness and hospitality made a lasting impression, and we greatly appreciated their efforts.Overall, our stay was a memorable one, and we are grateful for a place to stay while visiting family locally.
Many times we have been back and forth through Macon on our way to our daughter's in Little Rock. Now that we live in Clearwater FL rather than Chipley in the Fl panhandle, it's too hard on us to drive straight through. This house & property is incredible. I realize to some people that they might not like the view of the lumber yard but it doesn't bother me a bit. The house is quite lovely with a kitchen that is every woman's dream! The dining area is so sunny and bright and the beds were comfy. I could run on for an hour about what all we loved~Marvin & family are thoughtful hosts. I can't wait to return and see the house as they work to bring it to full glory!

So glad you enjoyed your stay, we welcome you back anytime!
We enjoyed our stay at this property. Home had just enough room for a family of seven. Plenty of couch space in the living room helped everyone have their own area to chill out. We felt the property owners went out of their way to ensure our stay went well. They left a dozen fresh eggs in the fridge and a gift bag with homemade soaps, lotion and honey. Our kids enjoyed time on the piano and playing foosball. There is plenty of space to explore outside with a large yard and trails leading back to the woods and pond area. The pond has a slide on the dock, kayaks and a nice pavilion area to hang out around. Plenty of chairs to use and a grill if you want to cook out. The property felt safe and was pretty private despite being only a few minutes from gas station/fast food places. There weren't a lot of eating options in the area but that wasn't a problem for us. A great place to stay overall!
The Lapps thought of every possible extra to make our stay special and a welcome gift as well!
Their house was large and very honey. It was very quiet and comfortable.
From the moment you walk in the door you feel the peaceful quiet atmosphere welcoming you to sit back relax and reflect on simpler times. The hosts are welcoming and so kind, you leave feeling like part of the family. The master bedroom has the most comfy king size bed. We will definitely recommend this place to all our friends and family looking for a place to stay around Starkville (easy access) or Macon.
