Chez la Monette - SULLY
Lovely Morvandelle farm from 1819 steeped in history (family house since always, having once housed the village bistro), carefully revisited in the rules of the art, in a comfortable holiday resort. In the heart of the Autun countryside, in the heart of a small rural hamlet nestled on the immediate edge of the bocage (where peaceful Charolais cows graze in season) & a mini meadow with a few sheep & Adèle, the owners' donkey, 2 km the majestic 16th century Château de Sully (classified MH), one of the most beautiful French private buildings open to the public, birthplace of Mac Mahon, President of the French Republic. Nestled in the hollow of the green valley of the Drée (& its fish-filled river), this former mining village has a rich heritage (former Gothic church, funeral chapel of the Mac-Mahons, monastery & priory of the 13th century, several chapels, mining remains... ) and a bucolic landscaped setting of gentle mountains, alternating hilly bocage & vast forest massif (including the communal forest of 300 ha certified PEFC). Spacious cottage of great comfort. Warm country character with contemporary accents married to a careful heritage restoration (monumental stone fireplace mantle, French ceilings & original beams). Lots of charm & character. Ultra cozy atmosphere. Large exposed & shaded terrace (west facing) opening onto a pleasant vegetated & flowery garden, with a petanque court and a ping-pong table. Composition: Detached house on one level adjoining the owners' home (total independence without vis-à-vis). Wireless. Heat pump heating. Chimney. Living room-kitchen-lounge, 3 bedrooms, one with TV (bed 2 p. 160x200cm / bed 2 p. 140x190cm / electric bed 2 p. 140x190cm), 2 shower rooms (showers / one PMR with toilet), separate toilet . Garden + terrace + petanque ground + table tennis + bike room + private parking. Local shops 1.5km. TGV line passes 150m from the cottage.
