About this property
Contemporary Log Guesthouse with Sauna: Historic North End - Perfect for Couples
The Wooden House is a spacious almost 900 square foot urban retreat in the heart of the North End. This getaway is a perfect balance of industrial and cozy warmth. Walk, scooter, or Uber to Hyde Park and downtown from this quiet hideaway. In the warmer months, open the bay door to let the outside in. When it’s cooler the radiant floor heat will keep your toes toasty and when it gets warmer, you can cool down with the a/c. If you want more heat, turn the sauna on and have a sweat. Extra large bedroom with comfortable queen bed and additional lounge space on 2nd floor. Please note that because we share the backyard space & we have a dog, we cannot accept bookings from those with service animals. We, for security reasons, have two outdoor cameras at each entry. We are designers…and this is a special place that we have put love & care into. It’s not a generic house managed by a big property management company. You’ll see like so many of our past guests. Looking forward to hosting you!

Great place. Great location . Bed a bit uncomfortable, but more personal preference I’d say.

We loved hosting you & so glad you were able to spend time with your family! You are always welcome here.
Great location close to mountain biking, Hyde Park coffee/bars/restaurants, downtown, and the North End family and friends we came to visit. This guesthouse is quiet, charming, well-appointed and comes with a visit from Vera, the sweetest pup in the neighborhood. Highly recommend if you're looking for a private oasis in the heart of the North End.

Wonderful property. Very modern interior, beautifully decorated. We felt comfortable from the moment we got there until we left 3 days later. Walking distance from the Hyde Park shopping & restaurant district. Beautiful neighborhood. Would definitely stay again.

Wonderful property and hosts. They greeted us, very welcoming. Especially there dog. Definitely need to come back here again for a quick get away! Also the sauna was lovely!
We had an amazing time staying at The Wooden House! Derek and Danielle were excellent hosts, and they have done an outstanding job designing each aspect of this home including each room, furniture, decor, etc. Our favorite design element was the skylight window with a fantastic view of their pine tree. Also, the neighborhood was super nice and a close walk to several great restaurants on 13th street that had us covered at any time for any meal. We’d definitely recommend staying here, and look forward to our next visit!

Early 50s architecture & design industry professional couple who are passionate about architecture, world travel, handmade furniture, contemporary art, and their spirited (but surprisingly chill) Jack Russell Terrier.
Why they chose this property
Coveted historic heart of the North end neighborhood. Sidewalks for walking & lush tree canopy. Beautiful foothills with many foot trails are blocks away as well as Camel’s Back & Elmgrove Parks. 13th Street for eats, treats, rental bikes, and shopping.
What makes this property unique
We are designers and Boise locals. We’ve been thoughtful about creating the perfect little getaway for couples visiting the City of Trees. We are not a big property management company just looking to put a roof over your head. We provide a memorable experience for guests from all over the world.
