About this property

A-frame at Spotted Bear Retreat

Only 10 miles from the west entrance to Glacier National Park and a short drive to the Hungry Horse Reservoir and nearby Flathead Lake, our cabins are your perfect home base for exploring everything the area has to offer. Built during the 1950s while the Hungry Horse Dam was being constructed, these cabins were simple dwellings and at one time were without plumbing or electricity. They have been completely renovated, including new HVAC and are now darling little vacation homes with a lot of character and history.

This stylish little A-frame cabin features climate controlled heating and air conditioning, a comfortable king bed in the upstairs bedroom loft, and a big bathroom with double vanity. The kitchen is stocked with all essentials for cooking homemade meals, including basic spices and a coffee bar. The living area includes a queen size pullout sofa bed as well.

This house was perfect for my girlfriend and I. We were here for glacier national park and this property was the perfect place to wind down and prepare for our next hike every night. Everything was spotless, the host communicated everything clearly and effectively, and it’s conveniently located close enough to the park and town. Cabin was clean, well stocked, and easy to find. It had everything we needed for our 3 night stay. Day to day cleaning was well done but could use a little more deep cleaning (fan blades, vent cover in shower, etc.). We enjoyed our stay. Cozy and comfortable.

Overall, our stay was pleasurable, the A-Frame housekeeping cottage is newly updated inside, very clean and functional. We appreciated extras, such as Bear Spray, hiking information book, fully stocked coffee selection, creamers and the Keurig Machine, to name a few.The property on which the Spotted Bear is located could benefit from a more esthetic landscaping. That said, it is some good distance from the main road (US 2) thus is quiet and even some deer could be observed grazing, a cat prowling, birds singing. My husband and I would definitely rent again from this host.

Spotted Bear - the Perfect Glacier Retreat

We had a fantastic stay at the Spotted Bear A-Frame. Rustic and cozy. Quick drive to Glacier, restaurants and stores. As others have reviewed, wifi is very spotty, which did not bother us. Would love to return here soon.

Excellent location for visiting Glacier.15 minutes to Ranger station. Only thing we might add is to have the cleaner wipe down the ceiling fans otherwise perfect rental.

Trip to Glacier

Wife and I recently went to Glacier National Park. We stayed at Spotted Bear A-frame for about 4 days. Everything was great! Easy check in, clean and felt safe. I will be staying here for future Glacier trips!

So clean, bed was enormous and sooo comfortable. Loved the layout. Had everything we needed, and location was excellent for going to the park and heading into Columbia Falls and Kalispell for dinner. Highly recommend it. We would definitely return.

Nice A frame. Great HVAC kept place cool. Had trouble with internet and manager took care of it promptly. Although not a resort, no additional amenities, it was clean and quiet. Good access to the park.

Deer in the Yard

When we drove up there was a deer feeding in the yard . Nice way to arrive. Pretty setting, good accommodations, close enough to areas we wanted to be in.

Loved the comfy king sized bed in its cozy loft! Plenty of outlets at the bedside and in the bath. A Keurig machine with regular and decaf, as well as tea assortment, creamer and sugar. 20 minutes to the park. Very glad we stayed here!
