Tourist town with many attractions and events. The buildings in the area are amazing. Theatre by the bay, Martyr Shrine, lake shore with fishing and swimming, amazing water park, restaurants, bingo, grocery store, liquor store, and so much more in walking distance. Next door to the public library. Friendly safe community.
The church was built in 1833. This building is an old Methodist church that doubled up as a hospital when the town was hit with the Spanish flu. At some point it was turned into an apartment building which over the years became “unloved”. We bought it with the intentions of fixing it up a renting out apartments again, but as we got into it realized there was too much character and beauty to just simply paint and update. We’ve removed boards and drywall covering original windows, took down to original hard wood flooring where we could, and in some apartments the original wood ceiling.
This building is very old. Despite the updates and renovations please expect the perfect imperfections of staying a building that’s almost 200 years old. This unit has quite a few stairs.
So here we are in this lovely tourist town with such a unique building that over looks the water and unlimited options... an Airbnb seemed fitting.
On the main floor...
A kitchenette with a stove, fridge, microwave, kettle , coffee maker, toaster, and cooking pots and pans.
Bathroom with sink, shower, mirror, and bathroom basics
A cozy bedroom with twin bed, dresser, lamp ,and skylight.
A very comfy open area that’s great to visit in with table and chairs to eat at, pull out sofa bed, tv with smart DVD player and neflick account and coffee table.
On the top floor there is a large beautiful room with queen size bed and skylight.
The parking is around the back. There’s parking on the road in front closer to the entrance, but in the winter by midnight vehicles need to be on our Lot to avoid a ticket.
The air conditioner is only in the loft. The apartment stays at a good temperature even during the day, but the loft does get a bit warm. The “cable” is actually netflicks, but the site doesn’t give that option.
