About this property
Cozy, Clean & Quiet. Home in the Hills. Close to DT Omaha; Market; Zoo; Gardens
Best kept secret! Comfortable home in a safe and quiet neighborhood in the hills. Perfectly located for quick and easy drive to downtown Council Bluffs, bustling activity in downtown Omaha, CHI Center, Luminarium, Zoo, Lauritzen Gardens, Softball Fields, etc.
Return from a busy day of activities to a peaceful oasis. Relax on the patio, grill out and simply enjoy the peace and quiet that surrounds you. Watch sunsets/sunrises on the horizon. Enjoy relaxing. Deer may wander through the yard - but they're quiet when they do.
This is best of both worlds - being on vacation with the comforts of home.
You can sleep comfortably so you're ready to do it all over again the next day!
Kitchen is fully stocked with cooking items, dishes, utensils, smoothie blender, waffle maker, etc. Icemaker in frig. Fully stocked coffee/tea/hot chocolate bar. Keurig, Bialetti espresso maker, regular coffeemaker- etc.
Laundry room - washer, dryer, soap/softener, iron and clothes folding table at the bottom of the stairs for guest usage.
Grocery store 3 minutes away - down the hill and around the corner for fresh perishables and big ticket items. (See Guide Book for details)
Parking in private driveway.
If you are flying in - Short drive or Uber/Lyft to downtown Omaha, Old Market, Airport, College World Series, CHI Center, Casinos, Henry Doorly Zoo, Joslyn Art Museum or Lauritzen Garden. - Best of all worlds.
IMPORTANT TO NOTE: This home is not recommended for toddlers or wildly adventurous youth. Inside: Home is not baby/toddler proofed. Stairs inside entryway lead down to laundry area and are not gated. Back patio area is edged, but not fenced with an intense hill/slope past edging. Great to watch the wildlife venture through, but extremely dangerous for wayward little feet. It is steep to the point of impassibility.
Children have stayed at the house and love watching the animals with no problems, but there are some for whom this would not be a good combo. Contact host if you have questions.

About the host
Hosted by sharon

I am a Wyoming native whom has spent the past 30 years in Lincoln/Omaha raising my family.
My work has recently taken me to Iowa and opened up this hosting opportunity. Sharing the Treehouse with others offers me a chance to "return to my roots", and the joy of hosting and meeting people. My hope is that this will offer to you a comfortable and relaxing place to stay and help in your opportunity to have the best experience in whatever journey you have chosen.

Why they chose this property
Fell in love with the hills and the trees - closest thing in Iowa to a Wyoming mountainside. The neighborhood is safe, friendly and tight-knit. The house is set up to be extremely comfortable and the views and wildlife are beyond what I imagined. Enjoying all that, just 10 short minutes away is another world - the heart of bustling city life in downtown Omaha. Brunching in the Old Market, catching an evening concert, hopping over to the Zoo, Lauritzen Gardens or Museums on a regular basis just for fun. Leave the hustle and bustle behind with a smile, return to the Zen of the treehouse and sit comfortably on the patio. Watch the animals, listen to the birds chatter and the wind blow through the trees. It feels like paradise to me .
What makes this property unique
In the description choices from VRBO, it's hard to choose whether it's rural or city life - because it is BOTH. As noted above, one can relax on the front or back patio and enjoy the solitude of the trees, the beautiful music of the birds and the wildlife, or hop in a car and be in the middle of a bustling midwestern City with a multitude of activities and wonderful places to eat within 10 minutes. No traffic jams, no long lines - just easy. The Treehouse is the best of both worlds.
