About this property

Character Retro Cottage

Recently restored 2 brm plus sleepout, settlers cottage 10 min walk to town and lake, (2 mins by car). French doors and rimu floors compliment the retro deco. Large fully fenced rear section with lots of deck area, flat lawn and mature trees. You can also enjoy the outdoor fireplace next to the grape vine and large sun umberella over the outdoor table. Good heaters and full insulation mean you will be warm even on the coldest nights. There's a Queen bed in one bedroom and a double bed /bunk in the other that sleeps three (one up two down). Lounge has a fold out couch for emergencies. Most suitable for one or two couples on their own looking for a cosy romantic get away or a small family - no teenage parties please..=)
This is a typical kiwi bach with a mixture of original and new. A perfect place to chill.

Dogs welcome provided they are housetrained and don't jump on the couches or beds. This is a very special place for us so please only guests who are willing to treat it as their own..=)

Special conditions:
* Minimum two night stay off peak and 3 nights during summer.
* Prices quoted for two guests, additional guests $20 per night each.
* Pets welcome $10 per night with prior approval, but not on the beds or sofas please.
* $60 cleaning charge applies to all bookings

Cute and cozy

We enjoyed our stay, the house had all the basics and was more than enough for our needs. The beds were comfortable and there was good water pressure in the shower with gas heated water. The heaters took a while to take the chill off but once warmed it stayed cozy. Close to town for convenience and easy to find, yet very quiet and peaceful.

Lovely and cute property

Great property and enjoyed our stay. It was xmas and as a cook I did however struggle with the amount of dishes - not plates but serving bowls/chopping knives/platters. It would have been good to have a washing machine at the property as well. The pillows were definitely need replacing. All this aside we did absolutely love the property and the warm feeling the house had and that does overcome the negatives.

Beautiful little cottage nestled away

We and our 10 year old chocolate Labrador thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the little cottage. Quiet neighbourhood and nestled away in a back section. Quick walk to the lake and town. The cottage itself was very clean and well kept. Great shower pressure too. Excellent communication with the host. Will defiantly be back again soon. Thank you for sharing your cottage with us

Cute cottage

This was a cute place to stay. A few more instructions would have been helpful - I had to hunt for the washing machine for eg, which was in a shed around the back. The dishes and BBQ were dirty when we arrived but that would have been the previous tenants. The hammock was fab and sitting in the garden listening to the birds was wonderful.

Wonderful Mountain Biking Base

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely wee house. It was very cosy and warm with everything required and proved to be a fantastic base for all the trails on offer in Taupo.

Xmas break in Taupo

Very nice couple of days spent in Taupo and the accommodation made the stay just that much more comfortable. Sitting outside with the Tui's so close you could almost touch them, the flax bushes are certainly an attraction for them.

Nice tidy wee cottage

Nice tidy compact bach. 6 of us stayed here for 3 nites. The cottage itself is clean and tidy. A little compact if we were all in one space at the same time, but great to have the sleepout for our teenager! The weather was nice so we opened up the french doors to the deck and enjoyed the outdoor area with plenty of seating. Great secure section for our dog. Infinity hot water was fantastic. Just 2 things that would have improved our stay; there is only a tiny fridge with an icebox freezer which is no good if there is a few of you or you bring your own meals. The second thing is the BBQ really needs upgrading or a really good clean. But in saying this we really enjoyed our stay here and would reccomend to others.

The link to the Book-a-batch page and your rules did not work for me, neither could I access it on the phone-app. This meant we did not know we were meant to bring own Tea-towels and should not have used your fire-wood by the front-door. Quaint little cottage

Such a great place to stay for our mini relaxing break with my sister and our dogs. Very safe yard . Certainly would like to stay ( for longer next time )

We were down for a sports event. For the price we thought it lacked in some areas. We found it difficult to cook as there was limited pots and only 2 elements. The pillows and duvets definately need upgrading. In this era No wifi is disapoiting..

Charming really sums this up

Charming really sums this up. The attention to detail was brilliant, colour matching all the accessories and so much thought into the whole property. This really felt like a bach right down to the squeaky floorboards and hardboard floors. Could have stayed longer and hope to come back again to chill out in the peace and quiet and sunshine. Thank you for sharing!!!
