Our stay at the Rata Cottage was perfect! The cottage was beautifully appointed with everything we needed to make the most of our stay. The kitchen fully equipped including a wonderful coffee machine, the bedroom was extremely comfortable and relaxing and the bathrooms and outdoor shower so private. The tropical gardens added privacy and a Zen to the seclusion. And of course the beach is only meters away. Richard was a superb host and very responsive to our needs. We will definitely be back!

Return customer

Second time we've stayed here now and really enjoyed Rata Cottage again. Went a bit further afield this time and found the closeness to town, to Albany and Orewa and to other North shore attractions really handy. Really enjoyed the Navy meuesum and cafe there as well. Thank you Richard. As always an amazing host/landlord (haha) for the week.

The location and atmoshphere of this cottage were perfect for our 9 day stay.

The location and atmoshphere of this cottage were perfect for our 9 day stay. We felt relaxed the moment we arrived and our daughter particularly enjoyed looking after the fish. The cottage is a short stroll from the beach and there are multiple lovely cafes to choose from in the neighbourhood. There were many days that we never got into our car. We would love to stay in Rata Cottage again on our next visit to New Zealand.

What a find!.

What a find!. Fantastic private location one street back from beach. Easy walk to Devonport and central to North Shore, Waiheke Island, and Auckland City. The cottage was immaculate and catered for every need. The decor was tasteful which extended to the art in the garden. Great indoor outdoor flow, very peaceful and relaxing. It was very hard to leave! Thank you.

Cheltenham Cottage was beautiful - compact, airy, with lots of natural light.

Cheltenham Cottage was beautiful - compact, airy, with lots of natural light. Good appliances, TV, showers, a huge bath. It's two minutes' walk from a great beach (perfect for families) and great walks, whether along the beach or up and round a headland which has superb vistas. Great little shops a five minute walk away (including an excellent French cafe/bakery). Other beaches a fairly short walk away. Near Devonport, a lovely little town, and thus to the ferry boat across to Auckland city.
