Our group of 6 friends loved staying at the Bach. It had everything we needed and we were constantly surprised at how well stocked it was with utensils and other essentials (even a bug zapper). The second toilet with our large group was definitely a plus.We did several walks along the beach over the week we were there and found it to be the perfect location to stay for our adventure activities on the Haast Pass.Thank you for the wonderful stay and memories.P.S. All the beds were super super comfy.Kylie
Perfect place for relaxing or exploring the area. So much to do for the outdoor enthusiasts.
House had everything you need. It was super clean.
Would go back again!
Okuru house was prefect for us 3 fishermen, good kitchen, lounge, bedrooms and shower facilities. Plenty of parking for our fishing boat and magic views of historic Open Bay island

Comfy bach in a great location.
A true home away from home in a great position to explore the southern end of the Westcoast. Beaches, swimming, tramping, fishing all mere minutes away. The house has everything you could want with a large kitchen, modern bathrooms and comfortable lounge area. A lovely quiet spot to spend Christmas with plenty to do should you wish!

Hi
Thanks very much for your review. I'm pleased that you enjoyed your stay at our little place in paradise
Great location if you are rock hunting, whitebaiting, fishing. We stayed in late January so missed the season. Town is a short drive away. Internet was intermittent. There was no wifi but we were told that. We needed to take our own bedding and take our rubbish away with us. Perfect place to stay if you want to get away from society

Well equipped and comfortable property right on the beach
Everything you need to enjoy a break from the business of life, warm, comfortable property with fully equipped kitchen and two bathrooms. It's right on the beach, which is great for beach walks and just looking out into the ocean. It doesn't have cell phone coverage or wifi, so it's a total break from the outside world! It is only about 2 hours drive to Fox Glacier and the drive up the coast is spectacular, so it's well worth considering basing yourself here if you want to visit the nearby attractions. Bring your own supplies, as the nearby shops have the basics, but nothing too fancy. The property has a good kitchen and even a slow cooker, so you can come home to a hot delicious meal at the end of your sightseeing day.

Hi Susan
Im pleased you enjoyed your stay.

We loved the 4 days we spent here. It rained a lot but it didn’t stop us from doing what we had “planned!” My husband did try to change our booking to 2 days but the owner got a little snippy with us since it was a “big” weekend (Waitangi). Understandable. We did check how many other bookings there were for this property around this time - we saw one other. Not so busy. We also received all the information on how to get into the home… and assumed we had paid the total for 4 days. A few days before we were to arrive at the house we received an email about final payment. We ignored it thinking it was a scam. The day before arriving at the home we received another notification about missing payment and realized we had not paid the full amount. The final payment was promptly made. No problem. The final straw was getting another snippy email about how lucky we’d been to make the final payment because we would have been cancelled!!!!! Seriously, we wouldn’t have been overly concerned if we had been cancelled. What I found interesting was the tone of the “warnings!” If that is how a “Host” behaves I hope others run from her! Not a pleasant experience. We’ve been on the road since mid July 2022. We’ve had no issues with any Hosts!! This “Host’s” behavior was uncalled for. Please consider and be mindful of your tone when dealing with people. You don’t know the age of your guests, their computer/phone skills, their availability to wifi and phone service….
Great wee home with everything you need. Fantastic spot and great for the kids having the estuary right there to swim. House is warm, clean and tidy. Love the covers over the windows being able to open them up without worrying about the mozzies coming in! Nicky was easy to communicate with and we will no doubt be back.
