Beautiful views

Chris's place is perfect! We woke up to a beautiful and peaceful view of the ocean and every morning we were able to see whales playing along the coast. Everything you need for a beach vacation is included.

All you need

The full kitchen had everything you need. The king bed was comfortable. The view from the Lani’ of the ocean and neighboring islands was spectacular! We enjoyed our stay at the Maui Kai 409 immensely.

Wonderful accomodations

The condo had everything we needed for our vacation. The lania is great. We spent mornings watching the turtles while we had coffee. The ocean is so close its an experience in itself. You can snorkel and swim behind the hotel but the beach .5 miles to the south has a large grassy area and beach.

Beautiful Lahaina retreat

My father & I celebrated his birthday here in Maui. It was my dad's first trip to Maui. Chris' condo was clean & spacious for the 2 of us & the gorgeous oceanfront view from the lanai was spectacular. We enjoyed having breakfast listening to the sound of the waves & dinner take-outs watching the mesmerizing sunsets. This was a memorable trip for us and we hope to return soon.

Paradise

This waterfront property is incredible and I wish we could have stayed much longer. The unit has everything you could need and the panoramic view is out of this world. There is easy, secure parking and it’s close to lots of local amenities. We walked down the beach to a sunset dinner at Dukes one night and we walked 5 minutes to a food truck park and grocery store another night. Communication and property access was clear and efficient. Ideal for couples!

Great vacation

Had a great time. The property had everything we needed to have a great time in Hawaii. Another bonus was that it is located within walking distance of places to eat and pick up some groceries. The views from the lanai!!! We saw a turtle the first day and tons of fish. Spent most morning having breakfast there and listening to the ocean. Met some really nice people hanging out in the pool area in the evenings. We will definitely be back!

A delightful daty

The unit was very comfortable and well laid out. I particularly appreciate the care that the owner had taken to leave clear instructions as to how various aspects of the property needed the be dealt with and what to be careful about. It is someplace that we would certainly consider for another visit to Maui.

Great home away from home

Great views,free onsite parking, great location for seeing all the sights Maui has to offer. Cond o was well supplied with all dishes and cookware you will need. Really appreciated having extra toilet paper and paper towels. Bed was very comfortable as well as the living room furniture. Shuttle to Whalers Village and Lahaina is just a 3 minute walk. Easy access to great beach and walking distance to restaurants and shops. We hope to return here next summer.

Amazing view, great location, exactly what is advertised

The description is very accurate. The process of renting was very easy. The unit had everything you would need. Views were AMAZING. Falling asleep to the sound of the ocean was the best. The overall building is SUPER quiet. Pool/spa was great and they even had a ping pong table. Inside of unit is a little dated (design wise) but everything functioned as needed and was clean.

Very Comfortable Visit

We really enjoyed all the benefits of your condo. You have supplied a lot of items such as the kitchen supplies, things to use at the beach, and viewing comforts to relax while gearing up for the next trek out. The air conditioning was a great feature to have, (especially while the usual tradewinds were absent for days). The overall comforts just gave us the chance to unwind and enjoy the views and the down time we're looking for. We'd stay there again if our travels permit. Thanks

Not Upscale But a Terrific Location

We've stayed at the Maui Kai several times over the last 30 years and have always loved the location---right on the water. The complex doesn't have upscale amenities or a sandy beach in front, but for surf sounds and whale watching from the balcony it is great. And since it is next to the north Kaanapali walkway it is handy for visiting neighboring resorts/beaches and for evening strolls. Unit 904 is comfortable and in good shape, though the bathroom is showing it's age. I wouldn't hesitate to rent it again, and the owner was good about communicating.

Wonderful Stay!

We could not have asked for more. The private large lanai had gorgeous views. We had spectacular whale watching, not to mention paddle boarders, boats, canoes, etc. Had we not gone any other place, the lanai alone made it a great vacation. The kitchen was very well equipped and had plenty of counter space which we really appreciated since we cooked most of our meals. The bed was comfortable. The condo was clean and at least as good as the pictures show. The location is perfect for walking the beach, restaurants and a grocery store. The owner, Chris, was very responsive and easy to communicate with. We’d go back in a nano second.

Ocean front at its best

Great location- perfect outstanding view! Property is clean - well appointed However - the unit has many notes taped up warning of potential things that might break. The owner needs to just fix these things - If it’s in danger of breaking fix it! TV was a nightmare - never did watch it because it was simply too much of a pain in spite of the detailed note taped to the counter :( The view cannot be best- close to Lahina- short walk to great beach

Perfect Condo

We throughly enjoyed our stay in this condo. It's well suited for a couple and was clean and updated with all the kitchen equipment and appliances we needed. We had high winds for one day of our stay and it was nice to have the option close off the lanai while still having an outdoor feeling. Best of all, was the completely unobstructed ocean view. We could walk around in our birthday suits, and no one but the whales could see in. It's also handy to the walking path that goes along the ocean (mostly) to the outskirts of Lahaina. The only possible downside I can think of is that there's not much of a beach since the building juts out onto the beach itself. We loved the area and we loved this unit.

It's all about the view

The lanai is where you will be when you are in your suite, here. February, and the whale action was incredible - don't forget your binoculars, as there are none in the unit. We loved having the breezes come through the suite, and smelling and hearing the waves crashing (because of the breezes, we never used the A/C). We just loved the Maui Kai resort. It is really well kept, and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. We felt really safe here. The parking was great, and ample. The common areas, like laundry rooms are really well kept, and the front desk sells detergent and dryer pads at only $1 a load! They even provide a car wash spot. The building is quiet, as mostly couples staying here. The suite itself was adequate. Nothing fancy, but well laid out, good square footage, and has pretty much everything you'll need in the kitchen. We felt right at home and had the best 15 days rest and relaxation. Oh, and absolutely NO CAR OR ROAD NOISE. You are also in a prime area to do miles of beach walking. Hope this helps!

Very clean and incredible views!

My husband and I just returned from a two week stay in this wonderful condo. First off, very clean! That was very nice to have a clean nice condo to stay in with INCREDIBLE VIEWS. The condo had central air conditioning which is nice if you need it. Nice to have that instead of a noisy window unit that often is in a bedroom of other places we have stayed. We have stayed at the Maui Kai many times and this condo fit our needs perfectly. It's quiet and right on the beach- front row views for whale watching and turtles too! Chris, the condo owner if very attentive to the needs of his guests. When we arrived there was a minor problem with the bathroom shower as far as hot water. The water wasn't really hot and Chris contacted me prior to me having to contact him about it. He was notified by the prior guests and he got a plumber right out to fix the problem. Now that is how it should be. Thank you Chris! Maui Kai is simple and an older building. It's everything you need- and the most incredible views of the ocean - you can't get any closer! The location of Maui Kai is nice- close to shopping etc. and very convenient. I would highly recommend this condo- clean, great location and views you cannot beat. Thanks for a wonderful stay and being attentive to any issues that may come up while guests are there. Top notch! For the two weeks we were there everything was perfect- thank you Chris!!

Paradise Found

We just arrived back home to cold and snowy Central Oregon a day ago and have already booked our return trip for 2018----and we never do that! This little retreat just drew us in and became the perfect island home for my husband and I. Tucked like a little hidden treasure among newer, taller, fancier, super-expensive resorts (which is not our thing) this little gem was the perfect home for our 10 nights in Maui. We nearly lived on the super comfortable lanai directly overlooking the waving ocean, with Molikai as a green jewel out on the horizon (quite often sporting a colorful rainbow---not kidding) We enjoyed cooking in the thoughtfully set-up kitchen, slept well in the king size bed, and felt like we were living here---not vacationing here. Just what the doctor ordered! There is a great market just 10 minutes away too, so supplying-up was a cinch. We quit counting whale sightings after 50+, but never-the-less enjoyed every one like it was the first. Many mornings we watched the big sea turtles swimming like children in the surf right out front while sipping our wonderful local coffee. The pool was perfect size, remarkably well kept, and always had enough chairs to lounge. We also made good use of the outside pool-side grills for BBQ'ing dinners and enjoyed having them provided. The owner Chris was very attentive and provides this home with extras to make your stay "just right" like boogie boards, 2 folding beach chairs and towels, an umbrella and a cooler. We didn't miss one day at the delightful little beach right out front, and also made good use of the boardwalk for evening strolls. All in all we came home rested and relaxed and ready to return. This truly was a special home-away -from-home!Thank You for sharing it---

I recommend this property as high as I possibly can! My feelings for this property is so high, that I could not say a negative word about any of it! Book it! A bit more detail: My oldest daughter (15) was excited to go to Maui and see sea turtles and within 1 min of checking in and going to see the amazing view there was a turtle swimming just a few yards out in the water. We would watch the sunset as often as we could on the lanai (porch) and just listen to the waves come onto shore. Everything for the beach were there for our convivence! There was chairs, beach towels, small ice chests, toys and umbrella. The kitchen was FULLY stocked! We didn't cook much, but found everything that we needed to make a perfect dinner! We were going to check into the condo the day after the tsunami warning and when I reached out to the owners, they provided what they knew and the website they were following to get the latest information. We exchanged messages throughout the stay and could not appreciate the open communication any more!

No regrets

Can’t say enough about how pleased we were with the property. Everything was as stated by the owners on Vrbo . Having stayed at Maui Kia many years ago brought us back. You can not get any better view. Sunset between Molokai and Lania every evening. If you want a little quieter experience and no crowds like the ones around the property, this is the place. Others are a zoo. No other property closer to the ocean. Contact with owners could not be better. To the owners many thanks. Mahalo Don and Carol

We first visited Maui in 2017 and absolutely fell in love with the area and residents. We've always had amazing experiences on the Island and have only encountered the Aloha spirit-we've never had a bad experience here. As we continued to visit the Island we realized that we could put our travelling experience to good use as hosts in Maui.

We have two children (18 and 22) and enjoy our time with them. We love everything outdoors (which is one of the reasons Maui is so appealing to us). We look forward to hosting you and your family in our condo ☀️🌴🤙🌊

Why they chose this property

We really enjoy each area on Maui but somehow always gravitated to the West. The scenery is lush and the pace is slow.

We chose this area and condo specifically for a few reasons:

1. We love the Kaanapali/Kahana area. Its truly a blend of developed commercial amenities mixed with a raw local feel. You can go shopping at Whalers Village (very commercial) to visiting local farmer's markets all in the same area. The area also provides everything a person could possible need within walking distance which was important to us.

2. The condo is ocean front. Its proximity to the pacific ocean and amazing views are just amazing. Its so incredibly relaxing and refreshing to sit on the lanai and see, feel and hear the ocean all day long!

What makes this property unique

Hands down the view of pacific ocean from the enclosed lanai sets us apart from other properties. No other property on Maui is this close to the ocean. It just provides for a real zen feel. From watching sunsets to turtles to whales-its just incredible!
