NB LINEN IS NOT INCLUDED A $15 per person fee if you require towels, top and bottom sheets and pillowcases. Plenty of blankets and duvets and pillows. Please advise when booking or text Jill on 0272080026 at least 3 days before if linen is required. Because Ellstone is a big house a minimum of 4 guests is preferred. You are welcome to Text the number above for more information. 15% discount for 7 days or more. Home away from Home! A private sunroom with pullout couch, plus another pullout sofa bed in kitchen/family area and also in lounge, make up sleeping arrangements for large numbers. ELLSTONE is a spacious farm house with all the comforts of home offering 3 ensuite rooms and 3 living areas, 2 log fires, plus heat pump. Private outdoor Spa (only onlookers sheep, or cattle) and large sunny decks. Exhale, and do nothing! Peace and beauty abound on this 900 acre sheep and cattle farm. Beautiful views of rural Wairarapa from the top of gentle rolling hills. A great walk .A short drive to Vineyards, Restaurants, Golf Course and Brackenridge. 4km drive from the Square. Tea and Coffee is included, plus sugar, flour salt,pepper, but all other food and drink needs to be brought with you.
Ellstone is an operating farm, activity can sometimes be operating closeby, and the private self contained annexe off the kitchen MAY be occupied, by Louise, our Caretaker. Your privacy is assured, she will respect your personal space.
Please leave the property and spa as found. A $25 fee for pet which must have it’s own bed and be supervised at all times please i.e not allowed on furniture or beds.

Large quirky property that fits a lot of people

Bring your own condiments as very little other than salt is provided. Check-in time is 4.30pm as well. Property is comfy and lots of spaces to break up a bigger group. Had a great time there and only a 5 min drive into town (if that).

Certainly is a gem! Very tranquil and relaxing. Lovely Rural setting but so close to town. The house has a lovely farm house feel to it. The Living areas are very spacious and the lots of room to relax. We would love to come back

this was a great place for our family - plenty of space, exploring the farm, putting up a slack line, walking on the farm, playing spotlight, toasting marshmallows and wallowing in the spa. And exploring the vicinity - the seal colony, cycling.

was a very suitable house for our extended family with different ages..there was everything we needed and spa pool was enjoyedThey may not realise but we couldnt get either vacuum cleaner to suck up anything..they need some attention

Great country stay

Was a great sized property for us and we loved our stay. A little different in real life to the photos but was fine. The flies were really bad though and should of had a spray of some sort there to use. Other than that great location and perfect for our family.

Lovely home

Lovely large house in nice rural setting. Good heating ensured it was warm. Kitchen very well supplied with utensils etc. Very clean. Only negative feedback relates to the quality and supply of the linen we paid extra for. We had to make the beds, and linen was not overly good quality and bit limited (1towel each & no flannels). Also the “5th bedroom” is bit misleading as is a pull out couch in the kitchen. Fine for family but not appropriate for our arrangement where separate bedrooms were preferred.

Not as relaxing as hoped for

Lovely location and a nice house. We arrived late after being at a wedding just down the road. No indication of an arrival time but were greeted with a note in the kitchen indicating that we couldn’t use that area. That left us feeling we couldn’t use the kitchen or the spa pool just off that area. Then unfortunately Doug wandered into our bedroom in the morning while we were both naked in bed. Genuine mistake I’m sure but pretty awkward. Didn’t ever feel like we could be as relaxed as we expected.

Doug and Jill enjoy travelling and have stayed at many Bed and Breakfast properties around the world. They offer their home to you, albeit they have a private flat which is occupied by Louise, our Caretaker, occasionally. They know what they want in a holiday house and hope they have provided it for you.

Why they chose this property

Quiet, rural, spacious. Sunny and shady areas, and if its raining, plenty of room inside with 4 sitting rooms. Only 4km from village. Big bedrooms, sleep 3 to 5 people and 3 bathrooms. Hen or stag parties welcome, but the house must be left as found and you need to bring your own linen, or sleeping bags, plus towels. I will provide linen for $15 per person if required, paid direct to my bank account or to Bookabach as above.

3 large bedrooms with ensuites plus private sunroom with pullout couch Four living areas for privacy if wanted. Outside spaces when you want sun, or shade. Working farm, and farm walks. Private spa pool, only onlookers cattle, or sheep! Tranquil - No neighbours! Only 4 km drive from Martinborough Square
