It's a terrific place to stay, very well set up for couples, families, friends. The house was warm and tidy; the kitchen / living space was really nice to gather and hang out at start and end of days exploring Martinborough and the region. It had everything we needed plus a whole lot more, and the hosts were very responsive to some questions we had. It was a peaceful location and such an easy walk into the village. Would definitely stay here again, and recommend to people looking to stay in Martinborough.
We throughly enjoyed our stay, house had everything we needed. Lovely and warm and nice and close to town.
Only downfall was the ants in the kitchen and no fly spray to deal with them.
Have stayed before and will stay again ☺️
We enjoyed our stay, the location it is quiet and handy to the Martinborough shops, cafes etc. The two shower rooms are great and plenty of hot water. Also the two heat pumps do the job even on cold nights.
Our group has returned to this property a number of times and would do so again. Fiona and Shaun are pleasant to communicate with. The deck is a nice addition for breakfast with the birds.
The accommodation was exactly what a group of 4 ladies required with a separate room each and 2 bathrooms. We really enjoyed being able to walk into the town for dinner and a morning coffee. The beds were all comfortable. The air conditioners were a plus in the hot weather. The lock box is tricky but it was still manageable.
Well appointed and comfortable property. Easy walking distance to centre of town. Two very effective heatpumps, as was a very cold weekend. Great showers.
A fuse blew while we were staying there and this was dealt with very promptly by the owners of the property.
One improvement that could be made was better outside lighting for when coming home at night. Was a motion detection light but wasn't working. Apart from that a great place to stay.
Very clean and main streets, shops, cafes, bars etc easily walkable. Supermarkets are a few minutes walk and open till at least 8pm so can stock up on breakfast provisions on the way. Coffee on the square was great.
Very comfy beds in the cottage, aircon was most welcome as it was quite hot on our stay - curtains did a good job keeping out heat. We didn’t use the bbq or stove - heated up some bread in oven (worked it out after pressing lots of buttons).
Lots of tea and coffee and extras (sauces, oil, spread, cling wrap, etc) and good shampoo and conditioner.
All in all we were very happy with our say, would stay again and recommend.
We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at Venice Street. The house is spacious, with four good size comfortable bedrooms and two well-appointed bathrooms—perfect for a group getaway. It was clean and had everything we needed for a stress-free weekend. We especially loved how close it was to the Square—just a few minutes' walk to cafes, shops, and bars. Highly recommend this property for a girls’ weekend or a group trip to Martinborough!
The property suited our family's needs perfectly. We were attending a family wedding in Martinborough. It was a short walk to town to experience yummy food and close to where the wedding was being held. The property was well-resourced with everything you need.
We enjoyed settling into our little "home". We really appreciated the heat pumps which took the chill off the house on a fairly cool day. The only problem was trying to get the key back in it's secure box and I had to phone Sean who explained how to operate it. Then it was easy! Would really suit a bigger group of friends and especially on a lovely day where they could make use of the great outdoor facilities.
We were a group of 4 stitching ladies on a retreat for the weekend. The place had everything we needed to enjoy the weekend stitching - the lighting was good, the location to the town was great and the place was very clean and comfortable. Would thoroughly recommend and look forward to staying again if the situation arises
Great place to stay - so close to town - plenty of room for two couples had our own bathrooms so that was a plus.
Would certainly use again for a weekend away for 2-4 couples perfect!
