LAKE VIEW RETREAT ON THE TERRACE

Situated on Ivy Terrace our Lake Brunner Retreat is the perfect place to meet up with friends and family and enjoy everything that the area has to offer.
Our four bedroom bach has open plan living/kitchen/dining with 2 bedrooms upstairs and 2 downstairs (2 with ensuites), 2 bathrooms and 3 toilets. Perfect for two responsible families.
Bush walks, boating, Golf, fishing and the iconic Blackball Hilton Pub are all within 1 to 30 minutes of the house.
Special conditions:
Smoking outside only
One small dog allowed with prior approval $10 per stay
No teenage groups and gatherings. No stag or hen do's.
While we are happy for young children to stay parents please be aware that the property is surrounded by high decks with 2 flights of stairs to ground level.
Bookings Xmas/ New Year and January: min seven nights weekend to weekend preferred although shorter bookings will be considered if there is a gap in calender.
Peak rates range from $225 to $300 depending on season. Christmas New Year Holiday period is High Peak $300 pn
Extras: Cleaning (Optional, NZ$75.00 per stay); NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Bring your own linen (towels/sheets/tea towels);

Great Location

We had a large group of ten (4 adults and 6 kids Uber 7) and stayed one night. The view and location of the house was excellent. It's a bit cluttered with personal items stashed about in the house but not all in the way. In all just right for one night.

Perfect Location.for our Familys.Early Xmas Day Lunch

With My Father currently living at Dixon House, and my Daughter living in Chch,.my Son and his Partner were travelling to Methven for Xmas, I live in Blackball. Your Bach gave us the ideal place.to gather together, for a family Xmas Lunch,, my Son was able to Bring Grandad out form the Day, then head away, with my Daughter staying the night with me, and taking Grandad home.... Such a perfect place. Hopefully one day we can rebook and actually all stay at your Bach... As it was it worked out great as midpoint.... Thankyou for providing such a well set out Holiday Home.

nice but lacks sun.

Nice house, but cold & damp, even though the weather was very sunny. It smelt as the house had been locked-up for years. We all lived upstairs,(1 on the floor) as the downstairs area was dark, damp & cold. (cave like) Nice fire & plenty of wood, made for cosy evenings.. It's a shame the access issue isn't mentioned in the advert. The instruction sheet e/mailed a couple of days before we arrived sugests parking boat on street. (not poss at peak times) . thankfully I'm a good 'Backer'.. Not complaining ! we had a great easter weekend, due to fantastic weather !

Stayed here with our two kids, 4 & 5, and it couldn’t have been much better. Highly recommend! Owners were communicative and the view is stunning. We’ll be back!

We really enjoyed our stay and everything was just as described.There's a great view of the lake from the big deck just off the lounge and the kitchen and lounge are super comfy and easy to use.The house was very clean and tidy and full of everything we needed.Thank you, we'll be back to stay again.

Double standards

Overall the properties location was spot on. The rules of the house were extensive but not welcoming. Our family is very clean and the upstairs presented well however the downstairs area was not up to our expectations.

Extra cleaning expected of guests at this property

Nice views of the lake, but we were taken by surprise by the additional cleaning requirements for this property. I understand that standard Kiwi bach tradition is that guests are expected to wash dishes, take care of the trash and generally clean up after themselves, but at this property you should be aware that you also will be expected to clean the toilets and vacuum the floors. We were not made aware of that requirement in advance..

Fishing trip

The property was excellent for our trip, the view from the house was amazing, the location in Moana perfect for our needs. The property had everything we needed plus a pantry of condiments. The beds were comfortable and the showers great. Four bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 3 toilets suited our group of 4 older men very well. The place was very private and quiet with good space for parking. We enjoyed our stay.

Clenliness issue

the property is amazing & offers fantastic views of the lake, however, somewhat overshadowed with the lack of cleaning inside the house. we encountered mouldy beds, dead insects & dusty window shelves cobwebs in nearly all areas of the home.we would stay there again but would request a deep clean.
