About this property

Stunning modern harbour front beach house.

Located right on the harbours edge, this stunning property is more than a basic bach. Sleeping up to 11, there's Sky TV, 5 TVs, Wireless internet, Fridge with Ice and chilled water dispenser, (plus an extra fridge) coffee machine, air conditioning, multiple USB outlets and a free-standing bath (with TV) if you'd like to pamper yourself. With unique views across the harbour it is perfect for multi generational groups and families as it has several living areas, inside and out.

Go kayaking on the harbour or take a stroll on the harbour front walkway. The 18 hole golf course is a 2 min drive or maybe spend a day on the pristine, white sandy beach or play tennis at one of Matarangi's courts. Dine at Omaras restaurant and bar, or check out Pipers Cafe for breakfast, lunch or the occasional dinner. There's also a local Four Square store and liquor store.

Explore some of what the beautiful Coromandel has to offer: Take a walk from Whangapoua to the famous New-Chums beach or from Hahei to the fabulous Cathedral Cove. Take a ride on the train at Coromandel township (just 20 minutes away). Or drive to Whitianga (25 minutes away) for shopping, supermarkets, the Lost Spring thermal pools and spa or to take a boat trip to explore the coast from the sea.

Or just stay home and relax, with multiple lounging spaces inside and out. We chose the beds and bedding for home-like comfort. For winter, the house is very well-insulated, there's a gas fire, heat pumps and extra clip-on layers for the Fairydown all-seasons wool duvets.

2 Bedrooms each have a super king bed, one of which is the Master Bedroom with ensuite. Bedroom 3 has two king single beds, the guest wing has a queen bed and a pulldown double bed, and the sunroom has a pulldown queen bed.

Special conditions:
Minimum stay 6 nights for Christmas and New Year weeks, 4 night minimum at Easter and 3 night minimum at all other times.

Fabulous location

We enjoyed our stay at the house a lot. The views were amazing! The area is quiet and nice for evening walks. Close to water and was great to have kayaks provided so we enjoyed kayaking at high tide a lot! Lots of beaches and tracks to explore nearby. Our new favourite spot at Coromandel!

Another lovely stay in Matarangi

We had another great family vacation at a Julie’s place in Matarangi. The house is amazing. Right on the harbour, beautiful sunsets, just on the path to the pier and shops or the other way to the beach. Great that we can use the bikes and kayaks to get around. Looking forward to next year already

We had a wonderful family reunion at this beautiful bach. So many treats and luxuries to enjoy, we felt very spoilt! Great communication with the owner and property manager. The view from the deck was stunning, changing through the day with the tide, light and weather. A very relaxing stay - we have come home feeling well rested and refreshed. Thank you!

Fantastic location for a long weekend!

What a perfect location for a good catch up. As a group of 8 friends, the house gave us plenty of space to chill out, cook well and catch up in an idyllic spot. The location to the beach, jetty and surrounding beaches and walks was incredible. The sunny Coromandel weather helped as well! Every detail was considered and we really made use of the great kitchen facilities as well as the outdoor areas. There was space for everyone to comfortably sleep - and the bath in the main bathroom was a hit! :) In short- we had such a lovely weekend and would love to come back again! Thank you.

Thank you for letting us stay in your home. We thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful, spacious house and location. There are some areas that could use attention:There was an ant infestation throughout the house, but mainly concentrated in the kitchen and living room.BBQ needs overhaul due to cleanliness issues (roaches nesting in cover, grease and debris buildup inside grill).Bikes are in need of attention to be useable.In the lounge, there is a meter-long strip in front of the glass door with water staining along the floor and baseboard; water is getting in when the door is sealed. Thank you, again, for your attention to detail. You have a beautiful home.

Fantastic property for family groups

The property is first class and well designed for large family groups as each have their own space, plus there is ample communal space. The kitchen and appliances throughout the house are all modern and excellent. Whilst not an easy walk from the main beach for younger families it is an quick car or bike ride, and there is plenty of walks to explore around the property for young and old. The property manager Malcom is very helpful and friendly. We had an unfortunate sequence of events that led to some property damage, and Malcolm was quick to get things sorted out in a manner that did not interrupt the flow of our stay. Overall everyone had a fantastic time, and the property and its location contributed greatly to our time in Matarangi.

Beautiful Home in Matarangi

This was a beautiful holiday home in a wonderful location. It was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. It had beautiful views and was perfect for two families to share. It had everything you need. We loved our time in Matarangi. The beach is stunning. The golf course is great for bar snacks and drinks or a meal and nearby Luke’s Kitchen in Kuatounu is a fabulous beachy pizza restaurant. So much to do around the area. Highly recommend this property to stay at, would go back in a heartbeat!

Amazing house for families and boaties

Awesome location close to not ramp and beach. The house is well set up for families and well appointed to a high standard. Liked the separate areas allowing families could have their own space. Beautiful garden leading down to a quiet public walking/biking track which the kids enjoyed. Very friendly to deal with, would definitely stay again. Recommend to all.

Spacious and smart

This house was perfect for giving our group of 8 plenty of separate relaxing spaces. The kitchen was very well equipped and great to have a BBQ to use. The beds were large and very comfortable with the bonus of a selection of different pillows. The landscaping is also a real feature and compliments the view perfectly. Communication with the owner was really easy.

Beautiful bach with great outlook

We loved our stay in this stylish and spacious bach with a beautiful view of the harbour and just a short walk from stunning Matarangi beach. The beds were comfy, the kitchen well equipped, the music sound system was amazing, and our host was helpful and generous. Having the use of bikes to ride along the harbourfront and kayaks that could be easily launched near the house was a great extra. We will definitely come again if we can.

First visit to Matarangi and what a well kept secrete. One of NZs most beautiful beaches.

Great floor plan that allows for everyone in the house to have privacy and yet enjoy common areas with great views. The open courtyard is especially comfortable.

The house was great! Plenty of space for our group of 8 adults. We particularly loved the deck (and sunset views) & that the kitchen was right there so we could all still socialise. A couple of our group commented it might be the best summer house we’ve rented!

They are excited to share their forever home and help visitors have a wonderful holiday whilst discovering and enjoying the beauty of Matarangi and all it has to offer.

Why they chose this property

Matarangi has an amazing beach and harbour, it feels quite secluded but is still only half an hour from Whitianga or Coromandel town, and many local attractions. Its the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful nature the Coromandel region offers.

They chose this property as its location right on the harbours edge offers amazing views, and the house itself has been finished to a high standard.

Set about a metre above the ground, the house makes the most of the harbour and mountain views and enjoys the sun from two outdoor areas - one to the North and a glass-protected courtyard facing the harbour to the west.

The property is harbour front, just a short walk to the beach and even shorter to the golf course or boat ramp.
