Spectacular Beach Views of Ohope Beach

Ohope Heights is a two bedroom apartment below the residence of your hosts Linda and Tony Bonne. This apartment is designed for comfort with two super king super comfortable beds, a lounge room with spectacular sea views, Smart TV connected to Sky, Free WiFi, coffee espresso machine, sundeck with a table and chairs, sun umbrella and Weber BBQ for your use. The kitchenette has a microwave, hotplate and electric fry-pan. There is no oven. On arrival you will find fresh fruit, biscuits, bottled water, and our Cavapoo 'Hugo" to welcome you to our picturesque slice of heaven.
All linen is supplied, and we provide beach towels for your beach swim. We have body boards for you to use at your leisure.
Ohope Heights is located up high amongst the Pohutukawa forest over-looking Ohope Beach, and the Central Ohope shops. It is a two minute walk to Cadera, a Mexican restaurant or to The Quay, a beachside cafe. Our favourite restaurant in Ohope is Fishermans Wharf Cafe, a 6.6 km drive and overlooking the Ohiwa Harbour. An amazing experience is a visit to White Island, we are only 5.7 km to Peejays, White island Tours. We are happy to book this for you. If you are into golf then the Ohope International Golf Course is a must. Walking Tracks such as Nga Tapuwae o Toi walkway is at our doorstep. These spectacular bush walkways are not to be missed. Also for the cyclist we have great cycle rides close by.
Tony is the current Mayor of the District so he can help you with information on anything you may want to know, and Linda is a Head of Department at Whakatane High School. They both love meeting people, and sharing a little of their paradise.
Ohope Heights is up one of the steepest driveways in Ohope. It is fine to drive up. Our advice is to select low gear and just simply drive up and park outside the garage of the middle light brown house at the top. You will see our sign Ohope Heights at the top as you approach Ohope Heights.

Ohope Heights is in a prime spot, so close to cafes/eateries, and there are absolutely stunning views from the living area/balcony. The apartment was very clean when we arrived, and the hosts really seem to care about their guests' comfort and enjoyment.

We really enjoyed the amazing view and the cozy apartment. The hosts are very welcoming and recommended some nice restaurants near by, especially Cadera which is really great and just 2 minutes on foot away! Very nice location, would love to come back!

Signage to unit extremely poor.4 homes at top of a very steep driveway better signage to unit. Door was unlocked and no one around steep slope to side door. For seniors or anyone with a medical condition not user friendly. Unit itself very well appointed no complaints there

What a delightful place to stay. Right across the road from bars and cafe's and the beach. Tony and Linda were lovely hosts and the room offered lots of complementary extras. We also were so pleased to be offered a late checkout too.

Tony has lived in Ohope for over 50 years and was a retailer and tourist operator for a number of years. He has been involved in the Local Government scene for nearly 18 years and is currently the elected Mayor of the Whakatane District. Linda is originally from Nelson and is a teacher and Head of Department at Whakatane High School. She is extremely dedicated to student achievement. They both have extremely busy lives but thoroughly enjoying sharing their self-contained apartment with guests. They both believe they live in paradise and the position their home is in Ohope makes it so handy for guests to experience the area.

Why they chose this property

The spectacular views from the apartment not only gives you a helicopter view of Ohope Beach, it is walking distance to three cafes and one restaurant plus the local Surf Life Saving clubs patrolled swimming beach is just opposite. It is only 7 minutes drive to Whakatane and the office of White Island Tours.
On top of all this the property is private from the road.
