About this property

Home away from Home - with Water Views

Welcome to Sixteen Jandals - a 3 bedroom house located in what we think is the perfect spot in Russell. Just an easy 10 minute walk into Russell (or 2 minute drive) or a 12 minute walk to Long Beach. This is a great spot to bring family and friends for an amazing holiday in the winterless north.

Gather everyone around the large 10 seater table on the front deck for a drink and nibbles and enjoy the view of Matauwhi Bay or relax on bean bags on the back deck while waiting for the pizza oven to heat up to cook your own delicious woodfire pizzas.

In the evenings sit back, relax in the spa and watch the stars - we have everything you need to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable.

Sixteen Jandals is close enough to walk into the centre of Russell and enjoy all it has to offer - local history, restaurants, bars, boating fishing and other outdoor activities. It's also far enough away to be able to enjoy the peace and quiet where you can listen to, watch and encounter up close the native birds that visit on a regular basis.

Check in is from 3pm and Check out is 10:30am - we just ask that you leave the house as you find it.
Special conditions:
- Min booking 2 nights (5 night min from mid Dec to end of Jan)
- Dog allowed with prior approval (max 1 per booking)
- Smoking allowed outside only - butts must be disposed of safely and in designated place only
- Use of spa pool (please see spa rules) and pizza oven is at users own risk.
- All Linen included including beach/spa towels
- Please leave the place as you found it
If not left clean then extra cleaning fee will be charged
- The shared drive is not suitable for large trucks or trailers.
As we have a shared driveway we cannot provide parking for boats.

NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Leave the house clean and tidy (as found) including removing all rubbish from property. Note bedding and towels can be left for us to manage.

We had a great stay at the place, the view was really special and it was a comfortable place for our two families. Plenty of facilities and equipment, and we made good use of both the spa and the pizza oven. Russell is a magical place and the location was very close to Russell township as well as the beach.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Beaut house and location, loved the walk to Russell township. Our linen wasnt washed so I washed them while we stayed - I couldnt find anywhere to communicate directly with you about this sorry, I think the laundry cleaner simply didnt show in between visits, as the sheets were stacked in a pile.

Excellent location - amazing views, peaceful, quiet. Felt secluded but an easy walk into Russell. Property was great - perfect size for 4 adults as you didn't feel like you were on top of each other. Pizza oven and jacuzzi were a lovely bonus. There was a good amount of wear and tear and the mattress were very springy but it was clean, tidy and welcoming

We had a fabulous weekend at 16 Jandles. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your beautiful place. Great facilities with all of the extras. Lots of space and well set out. Loved our stay here the house was very tidy and well furnished, spa was amazing sitting under the ferns listening to the birds with a wine was my peak... we did think it funny the idea of walking to town with the ginormous steep hill, I would've been crawling by the top, the deck was a bit scary too, otherwise was perfect for our weekend away thanks heaps

Amazing time at the place... Good views, a spa and an outdoor pizza oven.. Very clean and tidy.. Had everything we needed right down to extra snacking ingredients in case we forgot something... Perfect holiday home for the family

Amazing property, had everything we needed and then some! Was nice and clean, and low maintenance to keep tidy throughout our holiday. AWESOME kitchen to cook for the family and friends. Pizza oven and bbq was a bonus!! We had a couple of rainy days, and the lounge was well set up for hanging out and relaxing. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a family holiday. The walk to long beach and also into town was great, easy access to both. Everything about this rental was ideal! Cannot wait to return!

Beautiful Russell

A week away with the family. This property had everything we needed but it needs some significant repairs. There were issues with locks on several doors meaning we either couldn’t lock or unlock doors. The decking is in need of replacing. There were nails coming through, parts were rotten and the balustrade was dangerous. Not a major issue for us but this would be completely unworkable with small children or elderly visitors.

There is a view of Metauwhi Bay. The property was pet friendly. There was a strange odour when opening the fridge door. There were a number of hairs under the kitchen stools. The linen on the beds was however very clean. The biggest disappointment was that there wasn't an electricity socket within 5m of the car parking area. We were unable to recharge our EV during our stay.

Incredible views in a tranquil location.

Plenty of privacy with all the comforts of home and only a few mins from the centre of Russell. Our evenings spent around the pizza oven and dipping into the spa whilst enjoying the stars were definite highlights. We would highly recommend for a quiet mini break for two or for a small group.

Great Location & helpful host
