About this property
Kenepuru View - Private getaway in the Sounds
Road access, located between Te Mahia and Portage. Easy access to the Queen Charlotte track and just a 5 minute drive to the Portage beach and resort.
Nice modern kitchen and two bathrooms. Four bedrooms off the main living area are ideal for a family. A new heat pump was installed in 2018 and does a great job of maintaining the temperature all year round.
The spacious sun drenched deck has amazing views of Kenepuru Sound.
The section is large and covered in native bush, so plenty of room for the kids to explore. Native bush also attracts plentiful birdlife including weka, tui, wood pigeons and fantails, providing an unforgettable backdrop to your holiday. The weka are very friendly and run around like they own the place!
Walk down through beautiful native bush to a private beach cove where you can relax, swim, launch your kayak or fish off the rocks.
We have ample parking up the driveway and there is a decent sized turnaround bay at the end of the street for larger vehicles.
There is good mobile reception for all networks but no Wifi.
Please note our neighbours on either side are permanent residents who have retired to this beautiful spot for a quiet life.
Duvets (as pictured) are provided and there is a mattress protector on each of the (brand new) beds. Guests do need to bring their own bed sheets.
Guests are expected to clean up before they leave. This includes emptying the dishwasher, cleaning the bbq, vacuuming, making beds and taking all rubbish with you.
Rubbish can also be disposed of at the skip located just before Portage. This costs $3 per visit (must be a $2 and a $1 coin) and will take a couple of large rubbish bags plus recycling.
Special conditions:
A DVD is available, together with a selection of movies. There are also a range of board games & books available.
The place is well fitted out with electrical appliances including a modern oven, microwave, sandwich press, toaster, kettle, hairdryer etc
Toilet paper, dishwashing liquid and tea towels are provided.
NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Clean the house and do the dishes before you leave; Bring your own linen (towels/sheets/tea towels);
Kayaks can be hired from Mistletoe Bay (10 minutes drive back towards Linkwater).
Kenepuru Road is now open to the public without the requirement for a permit, provided your vehicle meets the below restrictions.
Combined vehicle length under 8.00m
Combined weight under 3.5t
