This condo is very comfortable and exceptionally clean. It is in a very quiet, lovely location with a nice pool and well equipped gym, and is 15 minute walk to the beach.
This is good location for exploring the north end of the island. There are grocery stores close by. I suggest you rent a car if you are going to stay here, as it is the only practical way to get around. The condo host did a good job of staying in touch. The condo was nice, and clean. My only complaint is the kitchen needs more silverware and the cooking utensils and pots and pans could have been a little higher quality.
Perfect set up for us. One bedroom with two beds. Downstairs unit with sliding door out to grassy play area. Location fantastic too for home-base on the Big Island.
We liked the place, but the upstairs neighbor had extremely heavy feet and no idea of quiet time. This morning, he was up and stomping about at 2am and moving furniture / hammering on things. Not a restful neighbor.
The condo was nicely situated away from traffic. Loved being on the ground floor with privacy. The condo had everything we needed for our comfort and stay and the hot tub was a nice retreat each evening. A Bay beach is a short walk, nice sandy beach, sunsets, turtles. Also has shopping relatively walkable. We spent our days out and about. We had air conditioning, but dont feel it was necessary being very windy outside (February).
The place is in a great location and everything went smooth. My only complaint was on the limited quantity of kitchen utensils. We had to dishwasher sometimes twice a day. If it wasn't for that I would have given 5 stars. Mahalo!

We stayed here for 3 wonderful weeks. The unit was very clean and had all amenities needed. There were two beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, and a small portable cooler. Everything needed for a day at the beach. The pool is beautiful with plenty of chairs/recliners for the complex. We had a nice view of the mountain and walked to the beach for the sunset view (1/2 mile?). You will need to drive to swimming beaches if you take any equipment. "A" bay is nearest beach and is wonderful. The pictures posted here are accurate. Check in process super easy.

Had a wonderful stay. It would have been a 5 star stay except for the lack of blackout curtains in the bedroom, which would have helped to keep the bright sunlight from shining in at 6:30 am, and the loud footsteps of the neighbors upstairs. Maybe I should only consider a top floor property. Otherwise, everything was great!
We've stayed in Waikaloa many times, several times at the Shores. This is a nicely located unit. Missed a couple of things usually found in these units like placemats and BIG beach towels, really tiny little toaster.This ground level unit has poor sound insulation in the ceiling and we heard every step the lady upstairs took back and forth and back and forth. AC worked great and quietly:)
We loved the condo, and the location was perfect for us. We had family nearby, and it was easy enough to access the areas we wanted to visit.
The only complaint/warning: if it says A/C , it doesn’t necessarily mean you will be able to make it as cold as you are used to. Ours was limited to 73 degrees, which was not close to cool enough for my spouse. Some property listings specify this; all of them should.
For that reason alone, we would look for another property for next year, but if that doesn’t concern you, this place is great.

Thank you for your suggestion. In Hawaii many AC's will have low level limits due to our high humidity which many times cause the condenser to freeze, to ensure our AC's continue to operate to the best of their abilities low level limits are set.

The grounds are beautiful. Unfortunately, the two full beds in this condo are very uncomfortable and completely broken down. Both beds sag in the middle. The management stated that the owners are going to replace the beds in May. I wouldn't book this property until they are replaced. Also, plan on renting beach chairs the ones provided are for children as well as the cooler. We made the management aware that the ice maker was broken. Condo needs some TLC and some added thoughfulness for guests.

We enjoyed our stay very much, and would book there again for sure! The condo was well equipped with beach gear, kitchen stuff, bedding, towels, etc. The condo and property were very clean - except that we found fresh gum on the sidewalk outside our door several times, likely from a rude guest above us. The pool and hot tub were very clean, great temperatures, and never busy. The check-in process couldn’t have been easier - all info was provided by email in advance. The concierge and property managers were readily available by email and responded promptly, politely, and professionally to our inquiries. We loved the location. The immediate area was a beautiful resort neighborhood with nearby shopping (including a well stocked grocery store). 10-minute walk to the ocean and 30-minute walk to A-Bay Beach with snorkeling, swimming, showers, flush toilets, and turtles. Ideally we would have liked a shorter walk for the kids to a swimming beach but this beach was a very short drive with public parking, and the property was with 15-30 minutes of many amazing beaches!
