The Space:

The Verge of Nowhere Oak by Tiny Away is situated in a rural town in the Pyrenees region, just an hour's drive from Ballarat, Victoria. This pet-friendly tiny house is nestled at the base of the Pyrenees Ranges, in a secluded corner of the property beside a chestnut tree overlooking a seasonal creek.



The farm stay is close to Avoca Hotel and just an hour from Grampians National Park, with nearby towns including Stawell, Halls Gap, and Ararat. After exploring the region, relax in our cosy 139-square-foot tiny home, equipped with easy access to water, split-system air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities, including an eco-friendly cassette toilet, hand basin, and gas-heated shower.



IMPORTANT NOTE: We would like to advise guests that there may be occasional noise from other visitors during the day. However, the nights are quiet except for the sounds of animals. For light sleepers, we recommend bringing earplugs with you to ensure a peaceful, well-rested stay.



Guest Access:

Guests will have access to the tiny house and its surroundings. There are no restrictions apart from the main house area, which is 400m from the accommodation.



Advisory:



- We request guests to bring their own drinking water.

- Please note that the main house is always occupied when guests are on the property.



If you're interested, there is a horse stud at the end of the road where you can go horseback riding.



The Neighborhood:

The Verge of Nowhere Oak by Tiny Away sits in the quiet town in Nowhere Creek, just an hour's drive from Ballarat and popular attractions like Sovereign Hill and Lake Wendouree, Victoria. This peaceful farm stay is ideal for experiencing tiny house living, with nearby towns including Stawell, Halls Gap, and Ararat, all within 40–55 minutes away.



If you're looking to explore, One Tree Hill Lookout offers beautiful bushland tracks. Grampians National Park is just an hour away and has amazing hiking trails and waterfalls. Mount Buangor State Park is nearby too, with forests, creeks, and the region’s tallest peak. For wine lovers, Blue Pyrenees Estate has been making handcrafted wines since 1963.



For food, there are Woolworths and Aldi in Ararat, just a short drive from our place. The Avoca Hotel is also a great spot for gourmet meals and local wines in a cosy pub setting.



Getting Around:

By car:



- Towns are 10 minutes to Elmhurst, 25 minutes to Avoca, 30 minutes to Ararat. We are a 2 ½ hour drive from Melbourne and 1 hour northwest of Ballarat. You can get around in both 2WD and 4WD.



By public transport:



- Taxis and Uber service the area from Ararat. Trains run from Melbourne to Ararat.



Other Things to Note:

- No mobile reception

- Self-catering accommodation

- Gas and charcoal BBQ Grill are available

- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed

- Bring your own drinking water, tank water is fine for washing not drinking

- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge

- Pets Are Allowed by 24 hrs prior notice, and must be on leash at all times. The full policy will be sent before arrival.

- Guests are welcome to smoke on the property; however, smoking inside the tiny house is not permitted. Please note that additional charges may apply if the unit retains a cigarette smell.



Important note:



- BBQ grills and outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban

- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present on the property.

- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain our cassette toilet and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
