The Space
Step into the enchanting world of Huāki, where the winds of history have left their mark on our 100-year-old rustic family Bach. Nestled in a coastal haven, our house wears its weathered façade like a badge of honour, a testament to the countless storms endured and tales told under its roof.
Every window offers a picturesque garden view, retaining their original charm with single-glazed panes. While there's no central heating or air conditioning, fear not! We've placed an electric heater in every room to keep you warm on those chilly nights.
Embrace the property's charm within our beautiful garden setting. And yes, along with the lush garden views come the occasional bug brigade—especially sandflies. They're just part of the West Coast ecosystem, so come prepared! As a bonus, we have access to glow worms in the bush right next to our property—a magical sight you won't want to miss.
We're proud to share our space with families of Weka’s that have been living on our property for generations. In their honour, we uphold a strictly no dogs policy, ensuring their sanctuary remains undisturbed.
Close access to the Pororari Lagoon, rugged beach, numerous walking, and biking tracks all await your exploration. A short 5-minute drive brings you to the Pancake Rocks, a geological wonder that never fails to captivate.

A charming beach cottage set in a natural garden that merges with the native bush. Charming if you enjoy a rustic return to the past with no TV and no Wifi. Loved it.
