Simply fantastic! 10 min to Manatee Springs State Park. Right on the beautiful Suwannee River with a sunroom on the dock for sunrises and sunsets! The owners, Joe and Mary live next door and are wonderful hosts. Can’t wait to go back!

We looooved this house! Would stay again in a
heartbeat. Clean, spacious and "Old Florida"!
Lots of outing opportunities close by and within about an hour's drive from the property.
From the owner: "We’re so happy to hear you enjoyed the quiet location and found it to be a great fit for your stay. We strive to provide a peaceful setting where guests can relax and feel comfortable, and it’s wonderful to know that it stood out to you. Thank you for letting us know about your visit."
Mary was terrific at check-in and the property was beautiful on the Suwannee River. Such a beautiful place. The screened porch outside was super cool to relax and just chill on the river.
Relaxing place in a quiet neighborhood. Loved the boat house and fishing off the dock. Close to several springs we visited. Great restaurants nearby. Rented a boat one day for trip on the Suwanee.
What a perfect place to disconnect from everything and relax!! The owners are wondering host and neighbors. We're already looking forward to our next visit

our guest were wonderful too. can’t wait for you return!
We had a very relaxing stay. Wish we would have had more sunshine but the weather did not cooperate. The owners were next door and very helpful! We had everything that we needed.
The place for nature. Plenty of experiences available...river, hiking, nearby springs, and base to adventure into the surrounding areas. Also great for downtime from everyday life. Host are available and gracious. Look forward to another stay in the future.
Wonderful location.
Liked the " well distributed " house plan.
Nice folks.
Enjoyed the stay despite inclement weather.
Make sure you're prepared to be nearly "off grid"
Rustic River is a retro property sitting on bank of the Suwannee River in a remote area which is what we were looking for. Plenty of good restaurants in area within 20 - 30 minute drive, great bike trails and golf at the throwback Chiefland Golf & Country Club. The house is campy but very serviceable and met all of our needs. Mary Beth and Joe are great hosts.

Remote retro river cabin
Great location
Great river view
Loved the raised screened-in dock porch.
The house could use some updating. I dont have allergies but found house seemed to trigger a runny nose situation while there.

Our gardens are in full bloom currently and allergens are high in our area. Really no control over that. This house is advertised as what it is, a retro river retreat.
Want to get away from the city and just get on the river and relax? This is definitely the place!! We loved the way this house was away from society, tranquil but still holding everything we needed in a home. The property owner were extremely friendly and very knowledgeable about the surrounding areas right down to sand bars and restaurants on the river. I highly recommend staying here. Worth every cent and every ounce of energy to get here. We will undoubtedly stay here again!!
I’m a huge fan of the Suwannee River experience, the opportunity to comfortably share that with my friends and family is all made possible with the Retro River Retreat!! I will definitely bring my tribe back year after year!!

we enjoy having y’all. you enjoy the river like everyone should. great guests! Hope to see you again. 5 star guests.
Friends and I were kayaking the southern part of the Suwannee and needed a home base on the river. We enjoyed our stay. The place is definitely retro but it’s on a great piece of land on the river. The dock and boathouse were awesome to relax on and the yard is plenty big. Beds were comfortable as was the living room. Everything in the house was clean and a lot of space for us to hang out in the evenings after being on the river. Wi-Fi worked great, which was good because there was no cell signal. If we ever decide to kayak down that way again we would definitely look into staying again.

From the owner: "I am sorry for not being able to meet you; I was up north during your visit. My husband said that everything was immaculate when you left and that you actually had an otter in the yard as a guest. We have so much wildlife around here. Thanks for taking care of our retro retreat."
The property was beautiful and well cared for. The house was also very well cared for. The area is a very quiet and private place. We would absolutely love to rent this property again just not through Vrbo. They were the only horrible part of the experience. Property however is definitely a five star for my family and I.
We rented this home for Easter weekend, which also happened to be our daughter's birthday. We had a wonderful relaxing time. The grandkids had a blast. We would love to come back in the summer when it's warm. There was a surprise cold front during our stay, so we didn't get to do too many outside activities. Would highly recommend this home and hostess.
Plenty of room. Nice boat dock.... perfect location on the Suwannee, close to Manatee spring, Fanning spring, several river side restaurants. Sandbars and of course not far from the Gulf. Close to town if you need to pick I’ll a few groceries too. Just a Great place to be. We really enjoyed. The owners Mary Beth & Joe are a wonderful and kind couple. Very pleasant and are just . Super friendly people

Fantastic :)
My wife and some other family needed a place to stay for a wedding as well as a place too visit family nearby and this place ended up being perfect! Comfortable, plenty of room, river front, all you would need for a long stay available and kid friendly! The owner Mary is a very kind friendly person who lives next door. She is very familiar with the area and very accessible if you need her but in no way overbearing. I would 100% recommend this place!
