About this property

One of Maleny's best-kept secrets

Escape to the Maleny hinterland to 'Everest', a historic Queenslander set in park-like gardens. This stunning country getaway is only 4 mins from town, with its cafes, shops and galleries to explore. Discover crisp, mountain air, starlit night skies and unforgettable sunrises and sunsets.

‘Everest’ is a classic c. 1903 Queenslander, one of the original farmhouses of the area which has been renovated and converted over the years. It is privately positioned on over an acre of established gardens - a glorious ever-changing landscape designed for all seasons.

The entire ground floor accommodation for guests has been furnished to high standards and is perfect for special occasions and celebrations, weekend getaways, or a family escape, and pets are most welcome. 'Everest' is much loved by wedding go-ers for its stunning gardens, which are perfect for photography and in close proximity to many Maleny wedding venues.

Enjoy the crisp, clean air of the Maleny Hinterland, surrounded by the tranquillity of the world-renowned Glasshouse Mountains for a truly memorable and stress-free experience. This unique and secluded accommodation is guaranteed to revive your senses and refresh the spirit - whether you're keen to explore all the Hinterland has to offer, enjoy the convenience of the Sunshine Coast only 30 minutes away or simply rest and unwind. ‘Everest’ is one of the Hinterland's best-kept secrets.

ACCOMMODATION DESCRIPTION

‘Everest’ provides private and separate apartment-style ground-level accommodation for up to nine guests with a large living space flowing out onto wrap-around terraces and stunning gardens. There are three beautifully appointed bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a full kitchen.

The three bedrooms all have stunning garden outlooks, queen-sized beds, high ceilings, fans, heaters and tiled floors. The eastern bedroom offers delightful garden views through glass sliding doors. The middle bedroom is spacious with a picture garden window. The third bedroom has direct access to a private courtyard setting and is ideally suited for a family of three, with a queen and a king single. Beds all have quality pure cotton bedlinen, warm duvets and blankets.

The living-dining area offers spacious, casual entertaining with Italian terracotta floor tiles and two large sofas (one of which is also a pull-out bed). A well-stocked bookshelf provides hours of reading and the space flows seamlessly into the garden via a clever moving wall. The room also has a large dining table and smart TV.

There are two bathrooms, while not ultra modern, there is a heated deep spa bath, shower and toilet in one. The second bathroom has a shower which can also be used as a bath for small children, toilet and make-up vanity.

Tea and excellent coffee are provided along with local Maleny Milk and Continental breakfast supplies and if guests would like extra supplies this can easily be arranged, just let us know and we can order it for you. The kitchen is fully equipped, with a refrigerator, fan-forced oven, hotplate and microwave, crockery, cutlery, coffee machine and more.

On arrival, guests are greeted by the beautiful grounds - a level, tennis court-sized, grassy playing/photo area, much loved for wedding photography or throwing a ball for your pooch. Discover water features, bird baths, a Tuscan-style courtyard and many other private spots to sit and enjoy nature.

The 'Lakehouse' garden pavilion is ideal for balmy nights outside to enjoy alfresco dining. A large BBQ is available for you to cook your own meals and overlooks the gardens.

Wander the grounds to discover the gazebo, a relaxing spot to sit and enjoy a glass of wine which is covered in grape vines at certain times of the year. During cooler months the fire pit is a wonderful spot to gather and enjoy the starry sky.

Discover the true delight of 'Everest' gardens. If you have a passion for flowers, flora, plants and trees, you will not be disappointed by the variety. There are too many species of plants to mention, but the azaleas, huge camellias, orchids, heliconias, hydrangeas, and more will delight you during your stay. The orchard, when in season, has a variety of fruits for you to savour, including juicy oranges, mandarins, lemons and grapefruit.

When in town the owners choose to stay in the upstairs of the home.

A stay at ‘Everest’ is one to be remembered - we welcome you to the Maleny Hinterland.

What makes this property unique

Everest is unique in that it is one of very few original former working farms - renovated over the years and on a smaller block today, which operates as a BnB. The beautiful established gardens which cover over an acre are a draw-card to many.
